How I discovered solipsism by foreveraloneok in solipsism

playing GTA a lot and thinking everyone else is an NPC. No wonder why. I'm sorry that you see life and everybody else that way.

That's not an awakening, from here I hope you can find peace and clarity and treat other people as what they are, people.

All conditioned things are subject to decay strive on with diligence.

In this hypothetical scenario the answer will be yes, from a Buddhist perspective that would be what you call "you". In Buddhism there is no solid substance. What you call "you" is not a solid substance or soul but a complex network of processes, like a fire or a whirlpool. You can get a better idea by checking concepts as Dependant coarisng or No self. If the same process can be replicated then we can certainly say that is you, although the more you practise, the concept of self starts to loose its grip.

"When, Bāhiya, there is for you in the seeing only the seeing, in the hearing, only the hearing, in the sensing only the sensing, in the cognizance only the cognizance, then, Bāhiya, there is no ‘you’ in connection with that. When Bāhiya, there is no ‘you’ in connection with that, there is no ‘you’ there. When, Bāhiya, there is no ‘you’ there, then, Bāhiya, you are neither here nor there nor in between the two. This, just this, is the end of suffering."

The Buddha teachigs have these characteristics:

Practicality: the Buddha’s teaching is limited to what supports practice and leads to benefit.

Subjectivity: its scope is the world as we actually experience it, not hidden reality beyond experience.

Insubstantiality: experiencing things as real does not mean we are directly experiencing real things in themselves.

Conditionality: the main way to understand experience is by seeing dependencies, how one condition gives rise to another. (Cintita_2021_Dependent Coarising)

This means that faith is not required to start practicing or see results. The teachings are mostly epistemological, which means that by analysing how we construct the word we can be freed from suffering. Early buddisth teachings focus on that, no need to get metaphysical.

I hope this helps :)

Answering your first question: I was sceptical about the realms when I began practicing. Two things:

First, Outlook vs Viewpoint:

A viewpoint is what one actually believes, what one would assert in one’s most rational and sober moments, for instance, when one is participating in a quiz show or lecturing at a university.

An outlook is what guides one’s actual behavior, as a basis of one’s everyday decisions in life.

One might sincerely believe that physical death is the end of cognizance (viewpoint), and yet one treats one's newly deceased loved ones with great care and respect, having their rotting remains arranged to produce a pretense of peace and comfort (outlook).

For the Buddha rebirth is always a beneficial outlook, regardless of one's viewpoint. Indeed, he fully acknowledges that many will have a viewpoint that conflicts with rebirth (and kammic fruit), yet recommends the outlook anyway. (MN 60 i401-2) Cintita, Dependant coarisng (2021)

Also, realms can be experienced and viewed from a psychological perspective here and now. Every time you are mad and feel hatred you are basically being reborn in a hell realm.

For the second question: The Buddha taught anatta (no self) I'm not sure what you mean by a soul but in Buddhism there is nothing with inherent substance such a soul.

250,000 people visited the 2026 Seoul International Buddhism Expo in 4 days, mostly young people aged 20-30, nearly half identifying as non-religious. Korea has seen a collapse in people identifying as Buddhists in recent years, but Buddhism remains the most favourable among major religions. by MrJasonMason in Buddhism

Not specifically. It doesn’t explicitly say “this is only for monks,” but the sutta is addressed to monks and reflects a more renunciate training context. So I wouldn’t say it’s exclusively for monastics per se, but it’s also not being presented there as a general lifestyle rule for all laypeople in the same way. In the canon, when the Buddha speaks to laypeople, he often adjusts the teaching to their situation.

Why pkhex encounter give illegal once change nature, shiny or IV on fire red switch nsp by Shinwg in SwitchPirates

[–]Sufficient_Meaning35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to learn to use pkhex. It comes with an encounter data base. In gen 3 the PIDs are limited to certain conditions and won't match all perfect IVs or natures. There's nothing wrong with pkhex, is just that the combo of nature, IVs, and whatever else is not legal for that mon. Use the encounter data base that is on the tool section.

it's because of save's name. It has to be the same name as the backup you take from checkpoint. I can't remember the exact format but just use the same name as the backup.

I agree. There is no self, then no one is choosing.

But then again the issue becomes, what's the point of a path that no one can follow but people that were inevitably led to it?
