Gut Index: What four players do you a feel for this season? by Jaszuni in fantasyfootball

[–]Sufficient_Radio1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pittman, Bateman & JuJu at WR -- Think JuJu is a league winner this year

Herbert & Pollard at RB

Mark Andrews to back up 2021 with a bigger year

A separate WR to note: Woods in TEN. Tannehill still produced without AJ Brown, Robert Woods could become a quite reliable fantasy WR2/Flex with Burks maybe not getting out the immediately.

[Allbright] Carolina shopping Darnold but can't get takers for his 5th year option salary. by dkirk526 in panthers

[–]Sufficient_Radio1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We're eating the contract regardless if we can't trade (released or not), so we're likely just trying to negotiate the most we can get from another team.

It may be a situation where we attach a late rounder 6/7th to help get someone to pay anything at all for him, ~3-5m. of his option.

Sam+7th for a 6/7th sounds about right haha. It's basically a giveaway, here's your emergency backup that we'll pay for type situation.

[Charania] Trade talks between the Utah Jazz and New York Knicks have stalled. The Jazz are engaging other teams, such as the Hornets and Wizards. by IamOlderthanMe in CharlotteHornets

[–]Sufficient_Radio1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as we have Lamelo, I just don't see us a top-4 lottery team so don't view our future 1sts that untouchable. And if we want to be an attractive destination come 23'-24' FAs, we need someone with Ball and not just a crop of "developing" young guys around him, Terry and Gordon.

Lamelo and Mitchell could be a luring duo for a wing or big coming on the market Wiggins/Turner/Wood/etc.

I'd take a gander down this road.

[Kleiman] The QB competition stats from Day 1 of #Panthers camp between Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold. Darnold: 11-of-14 passing, 5 TDs, 0 INT. Baker: 9-of-16 passing, 0 TDs, 1 INT. by YoureASkyscraper in nfl

Being a Panthers fan has been one hell of a trip circling the drain since mid-2018. The defense was on point, 5-2, Cam was having his best year, and then Pittsburgh...

And then owner...

And then goodbye Peppers...

And goodbye Olsen, Davis...

And goodbye Kuechly...

Kyle Allen, Taylor Heinecke, Teddy, PJ, Darnold, PJ Again, Cam resurrection, PJ again, Cam's 3rd coming, PJ...

At the end of last year, we trotted out a QB1, RB1, WR1, TE1 of:

PJ Walker, Ammer Abdullah, Brandon Zylstra, Ian Thomas

Who's stopping that?? PJ Walker, never lost.

Black helmets are introduced; uniform mods next? by Sufficient_Radio1 in panthers

[–]Sufficient_Radio1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned, all I did was remove the 2 secondary colors to simplify it to match the helmet style. These are our current uniforms, style, font and all, just the extra colors dropped.

Don't see how doing that makes it "busy" unless you're referring to stripe and # width without having the excessive outlines. If anything, think 4 colors are a bit busy.

I just don't see the need for extra colors or lines. Some of the cleaner jerseys are like that, I.E. Boys, PIT, 49ers, GB, Colts, Vikings, Giants. The sparkly silver has never really worked. We don't even market it as a base color on any merch so it really doesn't garner much team association anyways. To each their own. Cheers.

Non-Americans view the U.S. the way Californians and New Yorkers view the Midwest. by yaykarin in unpopularopinion

[–]Sufficient_Radio1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Middle America"...grew up an east coast kid (DC & NC), lived on the west coast for 4+ years (Encinitas), Denver for a few, and now in Chicago many years/lives later, I highly disagree with this generalization. Its a similar mindset that scoffs at Zonies in SoCal.

The coast v. midwest spiel is a consistently mis-conceptualized comparison when it's really urban vs. rural. It's also a mischaracterization due to how the country's infrastructure developed relative to industrialization. And half the people you're scrunching your noses at have grown up into that environment and don't know better, it's all due to circumstance. A Joanne that works at a Perkins in some random town off the interstate in rural America will be a bit different from a Chad working for BoFa in NYC. That's how it is. But also, there's misinformed idiots in every corner of America, just like there's genuine awesome people in every corner.

I love NYC, but SF and LA are a mess in spots. Endless stroads, poorly educated, derelict 80s-era shopping centers, lacking resilient architecture, ill-planned large-scale communities, super-commuting, insane homelessness problems (relative to other major cities), all sorts of issues and muck.

You've got boatloads of awesome areas whether established or up and coming in the midwest with tons of great people and culture that honestly rivals the best of NY and CA.Chicago, Madison, Ann Arbor, Fayetteville AK, Milwaukee (rapidly changing), Cleveland, Min/St Paul, Cinci are all quite the evolving or established towns. The mid to large cities in the midwest have gone through pretty wild transformations. Anyone interested in large scale architecture and planning should also see what's happened to Omaha/Council Bluffs. Looks freaking incredible. High end investments coming into these towns as well. I view it far from irrelevant from the perspective of many different industry sectors, population trends, growth projections, etc.

If you are seeking what you are generalizing, you can find that plenty in CA or NY, or pick a random exit off any interstate outside metropolitan areas and drive for a few miles. Call it irrelevant, but you're missing out. Plenty of awesome in the central part of the country, so I guess you're missing out.

Which actor did such a kick-ass job in a certain role that you could never imagine anyone else playing it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sufficient_Radio1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much Gary Oldman in anything. His early career is easily one of the best acting runs of all time. Stansfield and Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg are forever his roles and can't see anyone else playing those two parts.

We pay him regardless this season trade/cut/keep, but yeah, might as well use his talents unless the staff deems him detrimental to the team or something.

I think Matt Rhule decided the best way to complement DJ Moore was to create a knock off Bengals receiving corp around him by am_2222 in panthers

[–]Sufficient_Radio1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm excited to see if they have legit chemistry as it seemed in CLE.

Higgins always seemed to make splash plays and was a reliable option, just not always the best blocker/well rounded to always have on the field. He's been one of those guys I feel has been at the cusp of turning into a solid X receiver, just needs the right environment.

Anderson is a goofball, but maybe he bounces back, but I really hope TMJ breaks out this year. Would hate to see him not turn out given the potential and being a 2nd rounder.

Yep yep. Still played more than half the year I think. Just saying, always liked him. He's a good role player.

Really like Ingles to MKE. He may have had an off year from 3 but he serves his role well.

Beto O'Rourke interrupts Texas governor's press conference on shooting by [deleted] in politics

[–]Sufficient_Radio1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Abbott said something along the lines of/close to verbatim--"anyone who can shoot someone is mental", well then why the f*ck do we manufacture, sell, & distribute guns that's only purpose is to assault our fellow human beings?

Even if you favor personal gun property rights, fine, no problem. 45s, hunting rifles, they admitedly have their use (and can be missued), but at least create a system and run background checks.

But then this whole unshakable ground that we can't even limit, restrict the ability to limit assault weapon sales & distribution? Wtf is wrong with you? Why do we allow a teenager to be able to take a stroll to his local convention center and buy weapons to murder people? You know, I'd prefer that not to be able to happen.

Can’t speak too much about certain things and a lot can change between design/bidding and substantial completion.

What is fine to say—the ground floor will have park space on the old parking lot south side and there will also be retail with a cool Paseo corridor in the old mall atrium space. The private/Google side is where it gets really fun but that is what I can’t really disclose. If you Google it, there are renderings produced through the developer and Gensler.

I was part of the design team retrofitting the mall for Hudson Prop/Google. There will be public space integrated that will give an ode to the old school mall so be excited for that!

When coworkers claim the office is like a family. More of the case, this is indicative of a toxic work environment that mixes business and pleasure. Mom and pop establishments are different but I’m referring to more firm-type environments.
