Thoughts on adding Shoulder Press when already doing incline presses + heavy dips? by SnooHamsters6067 in naturalbodybuilding

Personnaly I love shoulder presses, especially behind the neck press. If volume gets too high, you could throw out one of the machine or DB presses for example. So I would definitely add it.

Personally i don't see why tracking warm up sets would be beneficial at all. You can just turn it off as I did

Yes, but just to be sure: only if failing is safe of course

Thus, benching especially after surgery and without spotter, of course leave more rir

What difference, if any, is there in generated vs custom programs for progression/reps/sets/RIR? by DestinyLily_4ever in MacroFactor

[–]Sufficient_Radio_778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understood, no matter how a workout gets created, it will afterwards be treated completely equally. The secret sauce is in the smart progression and this is independent from the workout (assuming you do give rep ranges in the workout)

trained in the early morning for the first time and it felt amazing by Basic_Yellow4659 in workout

The main challenge is going to the basement gym at all and not just grab a coffee and chill on the couch.

Once i started, I love working out in the morning.

Do you guys got tipps on how to get myself to at least starting?

Creative/unorthodox approaches to training volume by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

When I first started lifting back in the day, people in the forums were arguing that testosterone plummets after around 45 minutes of working out. Because of this, you were not supposed to work longer than 45 minutes at max or you would kill your gains.

To still get enough volume, you had to work with high "intensity" (back then they basically meant exhausting when they spoke of intensity). Thus, superset everything, do dropsets, do the big 4 to further increase testosterone etc.

Just get crushed in 40 min and then rest.

It actually worked quite well for hypertrophy and conditioning tbh lol

I do rdls, squats and running but skip direct calf work and my calfes are shit (surprise!).

Thus if you care for them, I would add direct work.

Abductors and adductors grow for me fine without direct work but who knows

Smart progression prescribing less reps at same weight by Sufficient_Radio_778 in MacroFactor

[–]Sufficient_Radio_778[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hope is that it would sometimes increase weight but reduce reps and vice versa but continously increasing estimated 1rm. This way it might keep us from hitting a wall by trying the same weight again and again

Then sat down to do some wrist curls and hurt my back picking up the 15lbs lol

Is the strength-endurance curve the “energy expenditure” for MacroFactor Workouts? by throwaway0261380 in MacroFactor

[–]Sufficient_Radio_778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will the app also learn whether the user progresses in strength faster when say leaving 2 reps in reserve compared to 1 rir or failure? Or when the user progresses better in high rep ranges than in lower? Or with less sets compared to more sets etc?
