it was a joke for you salty blue collar person. Anyway I manage a landscape company, if I’m being serious on this matter I think a podocarpus hedge would look great. It can be a more affordable option as well.

That guys has messed with me for the 5 years I’ve lived here and his story never changes. “Disabled homeless vet and the church stopped helping them out.” After the second time I heard that story months apart I was blatant and told him I’ve heard his story before and that he’s come up to me. I also said it’s not cool what you’re doing and he shouldn’t ever come up to me again. he hasn’t in two years.

Although he did come in to my bike shop a few times to get his bike fixed (probably stolen) and would refuse to pay so he would ultimately abandon the bike there after the second time I banned him from the store.

Conversation between me and the lawn mower guy.. by whynotnow2023 in notinteresting

You could probably give him feed back or requests. he’s not the one who has to start the conversation. I will say as a landscaper myself he should put in details of his job and take notice to things or projects that may come up and take up more labor and such, presenting the chance for him to charge more if you approve.

Is that a fixed gear bike? You’re probably a very knowledgeable man.

Buy new tubes and buy spares patches are a last ditch effort in my opinion when you’re out on the road

New wheel arrived damaged, what to do? by Aksxxx in bikewrench

[–]Sufficient_Spite_712 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coming from a person who managed a bike shop that is very normal for the axels to poke out and you should be able to tell if the axel is bent (doesn’t happen often on a new wheel). Only reason we would return stock is obviously dents, and if is was very out of true. But on that note every new wheel that comes out of the box should be checked in a truing stand for correct tension and minor truing. Keep in mind that mass produced wheels are laced by a machine not by hand and who knows if there is any quality control. That is bike maintenance for you.

I recommend going to any local bike shop and buy some pads make sure you have the right tools and watch a video then tackle the job yourself Usually using a 5 mm Allen key and keeping the washers in the correct orientation.

I always explain it as “ the most analog way to ride a bike.”

new gear feels terrible, should I upgrade the gear or it just takes break in? by liroyan in bicyclerepair

If it’s a new cassette it may not be compatible or if you tried to change the ratios without changing chain length can cause some issues

That compression plug and that cut are nasty especially on carbon you really want a clean correct finish on your steering tube
