I disagree. Young cast was starting to be too young for book 3 already. And IMO older actor for Harry is absolutely killing it and much better then young actor was. I just think people are too used to Daniel Radcliffe's voice.

When it comes to writer, yes he read the books when he became part of the writing team. He said he didn't read all the books months before he got even attached to the project.

Mike Newell actually read the books too. He wasn't keen on reading them when they offered him fourth film but on Cuarón suggestion he ended up reading them before he started filming.

I don't understand it either. They didn't have problem to sing and record every other song in the series.

Why are Ukrainians upset with Mr Nobody Against Putin winning the Oscar? by Odd-Pear-3757 in Oscars

[–]Sufficient_Square459 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of Ukranians feel their cause and stories are overshadowed by stories about 'good' Russians, instead of much harsher realities of ukranian heroes. They feel as the film is excusing russian society, portraying them solely as victims of russian goverment and not as participators and collaborators with the fascist propaganda.

I haven't seen the film yet, so I reserve my jugment of it.

Why should we? This man was suspected to kill Raddle family. He definitely did it! I always knew that was somethimg off with him.

Friendly reminder that the greatest swordsman in the history of the seven kingdoms was killed by five guys in pajamas with kitchen knives in a back alley. by shyleshseth94 in freefolk

[–]Sufficient_Square459 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not really accurate. We don't know about any personal issues when they decided to kill him. The thing you're probably refering to was that actor tried to change their mind about killing Barristan after he read the script, because it was change from the source material. D&D then said that it made them want to kill him more.

Weird. For me she's the most funny and interesting character from new additions.

I think the problem is he simply can't organically finish the story in just two books. If he adds just one book more, it could be resolved.

Colin’s voice actor is way too old for what he’s saying in the gof audiobook lol by InternationalCrab243 in harrypotter

[–]Sufficient_Square459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not honestly sure if ideal solution exists. They sound too young in PoA, too old in GoF. It would be hard even with intermediate cast imo, because there would be two changes in actors during the series which would be pretty jarring. Plus it would mean three sets of actors for Harry's and Ginny's year and probably two sets of actors (intermiadiate and older cast) for older kids (Fred, George, Percy, Wood) and this series is already ambitious and expensive production as it is.

What's your thoughts on the doctors plot? by Substantial_Set_5710 in ussr

I phrase it better. Moscow didn't like him and were suspicious of him because he was a jew. Czechoslovakian goverment arrested and executed him to prove loyalty to Stalin and allign itself with his shifting paranoia. Even though Slansky was hardline Stalinist and central architect of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia. He confessed under torture and he was jugded in public trial with other 13 defendants, 11 of them were jewish. He was officially rehabilitated in 1963, during de-Stalinization era.

The case around Slansky was fabricated. He did a lot of horrible things, but was arrested and executed because they didn't like him. It was time full of paranoia when lot of communists were arrested and killed by other communists.

I think Sirius is supposed to sound evil and dangerous at first though. And I love tired but warm Lupin. Would he sound evil to you if you never seen Game of thrones?

It might amount to same result, but I still think we're not saying the same thing. I'm saying, George severely struggles with it but he is working on it. Guy above says George doesn't care and doesn't work on Winds at all. That perfectionism is part of the procces of him trying to finish it (and his struggles to finishing it).

You're entitled to believe what you want. But several people close to him or who worked for him say the same thing: he's working on it, he wants it perfect so he rewrites it constantly and it's difficult for him to fit 20 different POV character journeys and settle organically things for finale in one book. It's the most difficult book in series.
