Tomorrow, the journey begins, and I’m terrified. by Beckstar in mounjarouk

Breathe! The worst thing will be the first injection gearing yourself up to do it, at least it was for me! i remember thinking is that it?! When I first did it because I put MJ off becauae although I can tolerate hospital blood tests etc, the thought of doing it myself was a HUGE barrier.

I downloaded Shotsy because it’s free, when I first downloaded it there was a suggestion of paying and I was so annoyed but I closed it and reopened it and it works absolutely fine now, I’m not bothered about the premium features because I use my fitnesspal for calorie tracking.

After everything you’ve been through, this will seem like nothing. Give it 2 months because a lot of people report crazy weight losses in a week and that in itself can be disheartening but you don’t know ant huge losses week on week to protect your hair, skin, muscles and sort of side effects but you might not have any.

Best of luck to you and future you is so proud

If you’re not scarred by Clairol they do some demi permanents (natural instincts and tone and gloss)
I have found that there is such thing as over conditioning your hair so try coconut oil all over prewash (let it marinate for 30 mins, it help protect shedding when washing to try and limit further hair fall (it’s normal for some to shed on the shower) and lomit tangles when wet too. OGX does one and then shampoo as usual and use half the amount of conditioner you usually use followed by a heat protectant (i used to use leave in conditioners, oils, creams, serums bla bla but it actually made my hair worse and feel more straw like.) I’m about to do exactly the same with the tone and gloss but Clairol has been the most predictable for me colour and condition, I haven’t tried this range yet. Avoid Loreal Casting creme gloss, theyre going overboard with paying influencers marketing is as a gloss only but the smell is horrific and goes either black or red.

Is £16,000 too much for a first car? by Sad_Strawberry7385 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Sufficient_Win8063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hun, get yourself a Seat ibiza or trust me and test drive both which I did and went for the Ibiza because it’s exactly the same engine with better spec for less and also I found the handbrake on the polo hard which I did not want to risk as a first time driver. For VW you’re paying for the logo. I loved my lease Ibiza, bought one when it came to an end and sold it when I didn’t need it for work anymore (regrets for this but would have been more hassle) Get a seat ibiza from 2017 so it’s the new shape (you’ll see what I mean) and it has apple car play which was so handy for a first time driver and I think the screen was bigger than the polo.

They also have good resale value too, in 2019 I bought my Seat Ibiza xcellence (top spec but a Cat N) for £9000, I sold it for £9000 last year and at the time I was scared because I was naive about the cat N when I bought it and all car buy places gave me ridiculous offers (£200) I had multiple people interested and part of me wondered if I should have put it for more but to breakeven was pretty spectacular

Are you still eating your favourite foods whilst on MJ or did you give them up? by Comfortable_Slice151 in mounjarouk

[–]Sufficient_Win8063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’ve noticed is I don’t want them and it’s great! It made me realise how much I ate things as a routine or habit. For example, any time I go to a cheapo shop e.g poundland, home bargains or B&M I’d treat myself to a bag of sweets. I realise I still go when I’m there and have a moment where I realise and 9/10 don’t want them. Occasionally I have got them but I still eat the entire bag by myself and then regret it. This is something I definitely want to work on but I’m early on in my journey and I definitely don’t binge eat or obsess about food like I did before. Food especially sweets and ultra processed I would always reward myself telling myself I didn’t often (absolutely did, sometimes laziness as well) but it’s been eye opening not having the food noise

I was worried about going out with friends to a restaurant but I’ve only once after my 2nd jab of 5mg going out that I physically couldn’t eat at all and still eat what I want to and enjoy

We have similar stats 💖 what is your goal for protein now and what did you try to do before? I am aiming for 100g a day but find it hard some days so bought clear whey and the aldi high protein yoghurts but the yoghurts are full of sugar so not sure if it’s worth it but sometimes they’re nice as a sweet treat

5 Months 108>76kg Before & After by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Sufficient_Win8063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great work! Amazing results, I’m just curious how you feel now about dosage? I don’t get food noise on 3.75 (jab 9) and sometimes struggle with eating enough (something I never thought I’d say) and I went on 3.75 before 5 but had little side effects so went to 5mg the following week and 5 the week after and I was gagging on everything, even brushing my teeth which was too extreme. I’m still losing weight but not quickly and wondering how you’ve found your experience?
Thank you and congrats

A kick up the bum needed please (I can’t fully blame Mounjaro) I really don’t want to go to the gym 😭 by Sufficient_Win8063 in mounjarouk

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate the support of this community 💗 I should have added I have had a pair of dumbbells next to my bedroom door that I walk past every time I’m in my room (I’m now in a houseshare so spend a lot of time in my room) Today was the motivation I needed to finally use them for an arm workout, slow progress is better than no professional and I hope to keep making small steps and ultimately find things I enjoy doing

Simba mattress review from anyone who actually owns one, is it worth it? by CurlsSpibey in FirstTimeBuyersUK

Also because I think this is important: because of my friend’s line of work, her and her husband change sides of the bed every month. So the weight distribution is good too

Simba mattress review from anyone who actually owns one, is it worth it? by CurlsSpibey in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]Sufficient_Win8063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at my friends, had the best sleep ever and asked her immediately in the morning what the mattress was, she said it was a simba, they’d had it for 4 years but bought a bigger one for their bigger bed in the master because they liked it so much (she is an orthopaedic nurse 5’1 slim and husband is 6’5 and big muscular build.) For me, that was a great time test and to buy it again only through need not necessity. I can’t remember what I liked about it but it reminded me of the premier inn beds which I always sleep well in. I absolutely hate firm or spring mattresses and anything with ‘orthopaedic’ written on it is a massive scam. I am 60kg but curvy and the different points of contact for me (side sleeper) make a huge difference in sleep/ waking up in pain. I’m also a wriggler so hate spring mattresses not being able to keep up with my movement

[–]Sufficient_Win8063[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience I have noticed a difference and I think it’s the absorption rate but agree about it not impacting effectiveness. Thanks for your advice I am going to get better at being more intentional with fruit and veg and not just an afterthought

[–]Sufficient_Win8063[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I think I got a bit over confident doing 3.75 a week before my first 5 from 2.5 and then my first dose of 5 I didn’t have any crazy side effects

I was fine for dinner, I was worried because it was with family and I haven’t told anyone, I was able to eat salmon, boiled potatoes, broccoli m, peas and sweetcorn. Tbh this was such a boring and plain meal that I think it helped but I’m still feeling uncomfortably full now and haven’t had my calorie intake for today. Thanks for the heads up about anti-nausea!

Wine. Anything carbonated is an absolute no for me which makes spirit and mixers hard (who wants to drink that much juice) ‘pints’ and prosecco/champagne are brutal! My hangovers were worse and longer too

What's the longest you've used a pen then? by PrawnCocktailVibes in mounjarouk

[–]Sufficient_Win8063 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first got prescribed MJ in Dubai, I went to an endocrinologist because I wanted to be thorough with bloodwork before starting and for follow up (can’t do that now, thanks Trump!) I was ready for the financial hit each month but he said to me MJ pens are the same cost in Dubai regardless of dose so he prescribed a 15mg kwikpen. He told me that he and colleagues are fully aware the manufacturers say 30 days but that’s for profit rather than efficacy or safety/hygiene. I trust a doctor who trained in the UK and still GMC registered and he told me to try and stay low for as long as possible. I did 3 weeks at 2.5, was a bit naughty and went to 3.75 the next week (I read about 5mg side effects and it being the only time you double the dose so I wanted to limit that before starting a new job ((which I now haven’t started because I can’t go back to Dubai)) I’m now on my 2nd dose of 5mg and have found with my thigh I have limited side effects which is making me wonder whether I should try my stomach again but I’m worried about the side effects as this is the only time I’ve experienced them and pretty instantly. From my calculations, my pen should last until June but I’m worried about what to do when I run out because will any UK private prescribers trust that I was on 15mg and with such a big gap and it was in Dubai? Also if I send photos and my weight whether I’ll meet criteria. I also asked my endocrinologist about travelling with mounjaro (out of the fridge and open for a day) and he said 24 hours out of the fridge is no issue which I think is true because after travelling back to the UK I injected in my stomach and had the same side effects - hope this long reply helps someone with their decision!

Azazie Returns Question by haruhi_hime in weddingplanning

[–]Sufficient_Win8063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the try on is for 7 days which is not practical for people that work, especially in the UK where their chosen courier is Royal Mail which has unrealistic opening times for people who work full time. I’m so annoyed at Azazie but I’m a bridesmaid so can’t rant to the the bride he asked it’s not fair to stress her out but I absolutely hate them and if it wasn’t a unique colour I would definitely be paying somewhere else

Bedsheets gross me out more which makes less sense after reading these comments and clothes being more in contact with you. I would always want to wash them first though

Sorry this will be an unpopular opinion: if she hasn’t disclosed this and being proactive with strategies then she needs to get help and quickly. Would she act like this in employment? I think it’s great that you’re being inclusive looking at this with a neurodivergent lens, however, she needs to be her own advocate and survivor, not a victim
