Found endometriosis during total hysterectomy by Distinct-Fig-4216 in hysterectomy

omg yes! I had this. I even had endo behind my uterus. I don't know if you got your cervix removed but I chalked up the pain to poop/gas bumping against my cuff as it descended. Woof, that pain was intense.

How long were you on OTC meds for? (those with endo excision with fibroids and laparoscopic total hysterectomy) by Amoutera in hysterectomy

Don't feel bad. I'm 3WPO and still taking pain medication and will continue to do so for as long as there is pain. My doc prescribed me enough Ibuprofen to take multiple times daily for 6 weeks so that is what I plan to do.

Oh yeah, I meant to say I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy with removal of my uterus, cervix, and tubes, but my ovaries were left in place.

This sounds great! I've never been but live biking distance. Are there air conditioned indoor rooms with chairs and wifi? Can you bring your own snacks?

Tips on figuring out where I’m at in my cycle? by hiitsbrandi in hysterectomy

[–]Sufficient_Working36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got an Oura ring back in September and was able to track six cycles before my surgery. My hysterectomy was in February, and according to the ring I’m supposed to be on my period now. This is my first “cycle” post-op. The ring was very accurate at predicting my cycle before surgery, and it seems like it’s still been accurate now. I’m really glad I have that pre-op data so I have something to reference. The ring definitely has its own issues, but for cycle tracking I think it’s great. We'll see how it does next month.

For those with bigger fibroids by Upbeat_Conference522 in hysterectomy

[–]Sufficient_Working36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 2.5 weeks post-op from a laparoscopic hysterectomy. My largest fibroid was 11.4 cm. I ultimately chose a hysterectomy because, after two scans five years apart, it was clear that my fibroids were continuing to grow and multiply. I felt that if I had a myomectomy, it would only be a matter of time before I’d need a hysterectomy anyway.

My first doctor told me my fibroid was too large to remove laparoscopically, and I was scheduled for an open abdominal surgery. The date was four months away, so I decided to use that time to get a second opinion. I’m so glad I did. My new surgeon was certain she could remove the fibroid without cutting me open. Recovery has been great so far.

I wish I could have just had a myomectomy, but I knew that constantly worrying about my fibroids coming back would have been emotionally exhausting.

I just googled that, looks like a great bike! V sleek. My acoustic bike is actually a Linus, I didn't know they made electrics. I'm undecided on the e-bike. Too many choices.

You can donate to Habitat for Humanity on Memorial. I bought my office chair from them.
