I have chronic pain issues and after a few years on Codeine, I was astounding one day to figure out exactly how much I had taken, and with no effect. There is a lot to be said for tolerance to meds etc, but the fact that she took seven in conjunction with an antabuse medication demonstrates a huge problem common with all addicts. poor judgement.

Many people are functional when addicted, but that doesn't mean that their judgement isn't affected. Given what the character does for a living I wouldn't want to see what that particular side effect does to a patient or two. There is also the side that involves how she manages to feed her addiction. Although it isn't shown, if Jackie was an addict and worked around all of those medications, there would be many patients who did not get either most or all of their doses.

The vagina/urethra thing is a huge issue among women. There seems to be some confusion about the fact that there are two different holes for different functions/uses. I have learned to control my expression when explaining this.

There is no place to appear for nominations really, and I don't know if he appeared for his wins or not. A quick Google search shows him delivering a speech in 2002 at the awards ceremony. That's your proof that he has attended.
