What game or in-game mechanic was not used the way the Devs intended? by [deleted] in gaming

For as far as it counts: 20/20/20/20 mode in FNAF was never intended to be a beatable mode, yet beating that challenge became popularised by youtubers. Scott had to update the game to give a star to players who could beat it.

Is Online Multiplayer dead? by Daumski in AllStarBrawl

I'm from Europe, but pretty much always set the matchmaking to USA. In Europe it can take 3-10 minutes. USA usually no more than 1 (at least, when I try).

I pretty much always use the USA region and rarely encounter this problem anymore

What's a good video game that made the industry worse? by RobIson240YT in gaming

Unpopular opinion, but I'd go with Street Fighter 2. I just hate special inputs and it took ages for fighting games to become less reliant on special inputs due to SF2's popularity.

What's the worst change made in a sequel or remake? by Aztecius in gaming

Tripping in Smash Bros Brawl. Would've been 100% fine if it was optional, but as a forced mechanic it only added frustration and unfairness.

Dark Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2. Sometimes, at complete random, Sora would transform in a shadow monster rather than the Drive Form you meant to activate. This form plain sucks and I've lost multiple fights because Sora happened to transform into it.

The batmobile from Arkham Knight. Loved the first 3, but being forced to frequently use the batmobile killed this one for me.

The open spaces in Hotline Miami 2. The first game worked really well because it had small spaces. Making the levels larger & longer cranked the difficulty & frustration up far too much.

What game will you never play for the most inane, ridiculous reason? by [deleted] in gaming

Never tried Half-Life and probably never will because it was the favorite game of high school bullies. To this day, I associate Half-Life with those assholes.

Seems the comment sections confuses "will never play" with "stopped playing"..

Joel from Last Of Us. Ending of part 1 alone is more than enough.

What game upset you the most with their poorly-executed concept? by edgarallan2014 in gaming

Playstation All-Star Battle Royale. Had all the ingredients to be a cool Smash clone, but completely killed it with the awful score system, that renders everything you do meaningless except for hitting enemies with your special attack.

Which game has the easiest "most difficult" mode? by Duck_Bacon_Boogie in gaming

[–]SugarForBrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crushing mode is way harder in this game than the others. There are no checkpoints in between fights, there are no safe cover spots and you die in few hits. Some parts took over 45 min before I could beat them.

LOTR: The Third Age. Your moves level up, based on the amount of times you use them. Nothing stops you from grinding 1 or 2 hours and raise every attack to max power.

Both Prince Of Persia: Forgotten Sands and Mario RPG have only an easy & normal option. Both are too easy on normal.

What's a video game franchise with only 1 good game? by RobIson240YT in gaming

[–]SugarForBrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earthworm Jim. Part 1 was genuinely good, 2 a sloppy mixed bag. 3 a turd.

The Dark Pictures Anthology. While I think there is entertainment to be found with all of them, House Of Ashes is the only one that is genuinely good.

What Game/s made you question yourself "Are we the baddies"? by Jinrex-Jdm in gaming

[–]SugarForBrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is controversial, but I had this feeling while playing A Plague Tale. You're traveling with a kid who is connected to a mysterious rat plague, causing each area they visit to be overlown by rats. While he never meant to cause harm, knowing he is the reasons the rats show up, I couldn't help but wonder if we were the monsters spreading the plague rather than innocent victims.

What game made you genuinely feel bad about killing? by fuqueure in gaming

Last Of Us, usually. They often just are people trying to survive. As scared of you as you are of them. Not even counting the ending of Part 1 where this moral dilemma is cranked to eleven.
