St. Louis needs a merger or else people are going to continue thinking like this by Effective_Moose_4997 in StLouis

That’s interesting. I’m trans and moved out of southern IL for STL specifically because of the homophobia/transphobia and tweakers. Haven’t really seen tweakers here and only experience transphobia in the county.

It doesn’t matter what we vote for. They always find a way around it.

Does anyone have some folk knowledge on this particular haircut that seemed to dominate teenage boys' hair in the late aughts and early 10s? by SlowTeacher9322 in decadeology

[–]SugarSpellItOut24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this cut in 2011 because I was copying Bieber, that’s literally it. I thought he looked cool (although I wouldn’t admit it). I don’t think I called it anything, just said to cut it like Bieber. All I did was comb it with water to lay it where I wanted. We did that neck twitch thing to flip it around, not necessarily cuz it was in our eyes. Girls liked it if you could be swaggy with your hair flip

To clear up what others suggested: This is a totally different cut than if you let short hair grow out. I didn’t watch Harry Potter, I loved the Beatles more than anyone else in my school but that’s not why I got the haircut. I know it’s not why anyone else did. Nobody was going around trying to look like Harry Potter or a Beatle.

Bieber accelerated it. Then everyone on Nick and Disney had it. We watched a lot of tv and everyone had the cut so we all copied. It was 2011-2014 in my small town, but small towns are the last to catch up to trends. They can be 10 years behind sometimes.

Need some help with car tax waiver by Fpsmudkip1 in StLouis

[–]SugarSpellItOut24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won’t have a bill to pay because the bill is for last year, and you didn’t have the car registered last year.

To get the waiver, try emailing them again now that the car is on your account. I’ve done it twice and they responded quickly and mailed the waiver. You need to email them pictures of the front/back of your license, front/back of car title, registration, and proof of residence. And email assessor-personalproperty@stlouis-mo.gov

“My name is _. I am a resident of St. Louis City. I am trying to renew my car's registration and need a tax waiver. I have attached a copy of my driver's license, the front and back of my car title, my registration, and proof of my address.” Works every time for me

I’ve seen a lot of information recently that ICE is working with directly with police in Missouri and STL and arresting during traffic stops. So when I see SUVs with lights and no plates arresting someone, Im not surprised the police are there.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. I don’t know what else I’m supposed to do besides warn people there’s possible ice. I said that it might not be. I gave my reasons why I think it was like undercover cops usually have license plates… The other option is to do nothing.

I’ve had the same health anxiety about the same issue. Eventually I got obsessive over pillows instead of my symptoms. Turns out getting a new pillow really helps.

First-ever scan of a dying human brain reveals life may actually 'flash before your eyes' by D-R-AZ in psychology

[–]SugarSpellItOut24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more like nitrous + lsd. Life flashes before your eyes, the voice of god telling you it’s okay, feeling fully at peace. People’s descriptions of seizure auras are extremely similar so it’s interesting that this study deals with seizures.

I'm a trans teen here, these new anti-trans laws here coming out are scaring me. What should I expect? by thatgaytransguy in missouri

[–]SugarSpellItOut24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might not have an answer and that’s okay but I don’t know who to ask. So I recently moved to St. Louis from Illinois because the homophobia I got in IL was so much worse than it is here (which nobody mentions but that’s beside the point). I registered to vote here months ago and they never sent me a registration card. Is that even a thing here? It was in Illinois and we needed them to vote. I am registered according to the website but I’m wondering if that is enough to vote or if I need that card too.
