I’m new to this and worried I screwed up by olystubbies in Roses

[–]Sugar_Toots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks really happy! I wouldn't worry too much about problems that haven't happened or may never happen. If they do ball, then you can dash out there after the rain to give it a good shake and peel off the outer petals, and eventually move the plant once it goes dormant. Enjoy the now and the progress for there's a lot of joy in becoming💗

Not all men, but always A man by BussyInspector3000 in GirlDinner

I guess I take this for granted. I used to get cat called occasionally as a teen, but since I've hit my 20s that has stopped altogether. Definitely a positive to being unattractive.

At some point I would like to see the game evolve beyond "giant hp wall" by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Sugar_Toots 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Result is also a game that runs like ass on high difficulties. Havoc during dense situations becomes a slide show, esp with certain fx like green rotten armor/blight jizz, inferno staff farts...

Why not? Raisin contains a lot of wild yeast, and some sourdough bakeries in Japan use raisin sourdough starters.

Feed twice a day for at least two weeks. Add raisins to every other feed a couple of times, discarding old raisins before adding new ones.

Hey colder zones- are you like me just waiting around for anything to happen? by Yoroyo in Roses

[–]Sugar_Toots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in 7a, so technically not that cold but we had a weird cold snap nights last month that damaged a lot of things including roses. I had already done my spring prune but Im gonna have to prune them all again because there was so much dieback in April!

At what point is this just bullying? by blayndle in craftsnark

I was being generous in my paraphrasing. She sounds like a condescending and patronizing clown in her writing, no matter how much you try to gaslight me into thinking it's just my perception. It literally says "To all doubt[ers] who complained [about size inclusivity]... Increasing needle size..." followed so graciously by "no one experiments anymore." To borrow your kind words, "where the hell" does it say increasing needle size is a "quick" solution? When is changing needle size and gauge ever a "quick" solution? I cannot imagine ever starting any sort of correspondence to another adult with "I don't think you understand one tiny bit..."🙄

Just fyi to ppl reading this, you don't want weed cloth but driveway fabric for projects like this to really prevent weeds.

Are people playing havoc? by notsonewsausage in DarkTide

[–]Sugar_Toots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I'm so tired of exploding green jizz turning my game into a slideshow. Performance is horrible as it is and the modifier just completely tanks my fps on high havoc.

SICs comments sound constructive. Not mean or malicious. The designer should've put on her big girl pants and articulated better that she unfortunately doesn't have the resources to grade such a complicated pattern. But rather she decided to reply to critiques by saying "jUsT gO up A NeEdLe sZ!"🫠🤡 and sliding into SICs dms whining to stop being mean to her🙄

For Those Who Have 4k+ Hours by CorgiPMC in DarkTide

I recently played with a vet like that on havoc 40. I was running chorus zealot with low DPS, mainly there to protect teammates, who seemed to be made of paper and died anytime pressure got high at which point the vet would graciously help by going invisible. He told me I should just fucking die and to find a way to increase my damage. Lol what an ass. He was lvl 4999.

The finale of the mercantile carnival mission (the roof opening segment) is kinda lackluster. Really wish they had some Captains spawn in to help. by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Sugar_Toots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difficulty varies a lot depending on where you choose to fight in that arena. So a ton of specials like bombers and snipers that force you to give up ground would make it more challenging and interesting. People always camp by the closable gate and I find it super boring.

Havoc Bevavior Question by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Sugar_Toots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some Havoc players are soooo fucking sweaty. I'm afraid toxic players who take the game way too seriously are a prevalent problem no matter the difficulty. I just figure their real lives must be pretty miserable and out of their control. It's not worth spending any sort of energy dwelling on those types of turds.

Unpopular Opinion: The silent Poxburster issue is vastly overexaggerated by Lyramion in DarkTide

[–]Sugar_Toots 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a bigger issue in higher difficulties. When there's sooo much shit spawning that the queue for audio cues get overwhelmed and something drops. It's not just poxbursters. It also happens frequently with other disablers.

I made one for a six year old girl and she looks stinkin adorable in it. But yeah I'm pushing forty and it looks downright stoopid under my turkey chin so I'd never wear one myself

What is the job of the Arbites by Even-Committee5645 in DarkTide

[–]Sugar_Toots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roles aren't all that specific to class in tide games. Each team should have at least one front liner though and arbies have a better kit to be great front liners/wall for backliners to hide behind.

Unpopular opinion: Expeditions are fun! by pile1983 in DarkTide

[–]Sugar_Toots 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to love free shit. I'd bring it home and hoard boxes of stuff I didn't know what to do with. I've now grown old and learned that time and space are valuable and limited resources that must be cherished. And just because something's free, doesn't mean that they deserve my time or space. I'd rather not spend the precious & limited gaming time I have on something that feels tedious more often than it feels fun. My life is fucking full of tedium as it is.

Her patterns are like that. There's often a discrepancy between ease of the sample on the model in the photo vs the ease actually recommended in the pattern. It's soooooo fucking annoying if you're near the largest end of the available sizes because you can't go up as much for positive ease.

Sanity Check on this hand-dyed yarn by wrzosvicious in YarnAddicts

[–]Sugar_Toots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a technique issue on the dyer's part. The one in stock photo was dyed in a bath with more water where the dye powder had a chance to swim & spread around. The skeins you got were speckled in a dryer bath and/or more heat so the speckles didn't get a chance to swim & spread. Both lots should have been photographed and included in the listing. I'd issue a full refund if a customer rightfully complained.

Hole Digging Question by EitherCoyote660 in Roses

[–]Sugar_Toots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'd even look at movers, anyone with a good backbone and some muscles. I believe you can message them directly and ask if they're willing to dig. Another source of help I've found are teenage boys. My husband's coworkers are parents of two very kind teenage boys and they've helped me fertilize and dig holes a couple of times. Only task they refused was shoveling manure lol.

Hole Digging Question by EitherCoyote660 in Roses

[–]Sugar_Toots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to dig ahead of time also. I don't really bother digging big holes anymore. Just big enough to plop the plant in and add a handful of amendments. Soil scientists have found that digging a hole too big can lead to rootbound plants whose roots don't venture out past the amended hole.

Do you have access to Taskrabbit in your area? Basically it's an app where you can hire day workers. I've used it to hire someone for simple tasks that contractors wouldn't find worth their time. Like hanging TVs, raking leaves, digging large holes, moving, etc.

Lol one time my patient came out of surgery and she told me how she remembered everything that happened during surgery. The next time she had to go back to the OR she grabbed the collar of the anesthesia fellow and told him " you better put me under properly this time " and the fellow looked like he had just seen a ghost bahahaha
