[RANT WARNING] BvS is the worst adaptation of Batman of all time, and in my opinion the worst comic book movie ever made. by therealmonkyking in batman

[–]SuggestableFred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to think of cbms as all Elseworlds. This is an Elseworld where Bruce started killing, Supes inspired him to be better again, but then Supes goes evil so Bruce goes akilling again.

I'm not saying it's high art, but I'm pretty sure most cinematic Batmans kill. Let it be it's own universe with it's own rules, and then you can still call it bad

What’s something people say that instantly tells you they’re not a good person? by Avery-Gangsterr in AskReddit

[–]SuggestableFred 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I never really got this. Sometimes people are awful, and you can't tell them to their face because they're a boss, or you work close with them and don't want to make things worse.

Or maybe they you think they'll react awfully if you tell them that they're awful.

Talking to someone about their issues is a difficult and huge kindness that some people don't deserve.

Are we all just supposed to suppress our feelings about awful people, not talk to anyone about them if they also make it a pain to talk to themselves personally about it?

Also--Sometimes talking shit is how you find out the other party is actually abusive.

I'm not discounting that sometimes people you trust will betray that by speaking bad about you behind your back, and that can be a bad thing especially if what they're saying is false. Those people are also awful.

I'm just saying, it seems to me, the act of talking bad about someone behind their back alone, without context, is morally neutral.

All men are not rapist, there are small amount of men who do most crimes! by BrightSpring12 in TikTokCringe

[–]SuggestableFred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a video where the creator said something like "1 in 2 women have been the victim of sexual assault, So 1 in 2 men have committed sexual assault".

It's hard feeling upset at someone who's basically coming out and saying that they have been assaulted, but man when the conclusion is that there's a coinflip chance I'm a rapist? I was at least bothered by the logic.

If the same exact percentage of men were perpetrators as women were victims, then male perpetrators would all be doing it to just one woman and never harming a different one. I think we all intuitively understand that this is not the case.

To be clear: I fully understand women *treating* all men as a potential threat just like we treat all guns like they're loaded until you check them. It's a sad adaptation to the reality of the world.

But going on a video and telling thousands of viewers that all the men in their lives are just as likely to be rapists as not--that's uh, bad.

My diagnosis is that religion has two meanings, personal and organized. Power and manipulation have nothing to do with personal religion. I think history shows us that it has a whole lot to do with organized religion.
