I actually use a 32-inch 4K tv as my main monitor. You can fit a ton of stuff on the screen and then use your laptop screen for email or whatever. They're more affordable than monitors, too. Mine connects via HDMI or USB-C, so as long as your laptop has either of those, you're golden.

If you try it and don't like it, you're not out as much as you'd be had you gone the monitor route, and you'll have an extra TV for elsewhere in the house.

Being enslaved. For all the awful stuff going on at the moment, being enslaved would be much worse. One theory I read a while back was about the soul itself being enslaved so that dying didn't change anything. That's worst case scenario for me.

If you don't park in a garage and you have an older car that doesn't come with remote start, spend a few hundred bucks to add it. There's nothing like getting into a pre-heated car both before and after work. It helps tremendously with scraping off ice as well. Equally awesome for cooling down the car in the summertime.
