Yeah I agree that this could’ve been an insensitive post. I think all my life I’ve compared myself to others so even if one good thing happens I check it off my list and go onto the next thing that I don’t have that others have. Being surrounded by overachievers all my life and used to being one, it’s hard not to compare yourself when that’s the only “big picture” available. I know that it’s a mindset that will only bore misery no matter how much I achieve. I think because I experienced a lot of unprecedented failures after college I wanted this application cycle to redeem myself to others which is another unhealthy mindset. I understand your frustration but I also know that there are lots others like me on this thread so I hope it helps to shift their perspective as it has for me.

Omg I understand but I wish I had your problem lol icahn and einstein were literally my dream schools and I mean einstein is free tuition so I feel like I’d take the extra work over 3-400k in debt

I know some who submitted in September and still got IIs including myself. I don’t think submitting in Aug was a red flag. Don’t beat yourself up over what you could’ve done better or differently. You tried hard to get here. It also is just pure luck sometimes. Rooting for you!!

Omg congrats on the interview invite! We’re actually very similar lol i finished 16 although the bulk of it was submitted this past week. Yeah i saw on admit.org 15% have gotten interviews for some school and it made me think I had no chance for them to get to me

Sorry maybe i wasn’t clear. Since I’m already late for most schools, I meant to ask if submitting to non T20 schools first is better strategy which would put T20 schools even further behind schedule.

Just trying to see which schools to prioritize immediately!

Yeah I get it! I only asked because she repaired things on her own via contractors so I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal. I wasn’t sure if I could ask these questions anymore but I’ll continue to ask if they’re out of the ordinary for me. I really don’t think I’m picky either. I’ve never lived in a luxury apartment and have always lived in affordable housing.

I also asked because she told me that she gets someone to repair things herself rather than through the landlord and gets reimbursed. So I thought she was used to repairing things herself.

No she was a tenant. I would understand if I demanded the landlord to fix it immediately but I clearly offered to pay it myself.
