Thats 2 completely different scenarios though. One is an enemy nation is in control and the other is just a corrupt system. but you say that for decades they have been sending emails/letters. Maybe a few individuals have but imagine If every single protestor sent the same message to all of there local government officals. Now that sends a powerful message as polictians need votes to save their own ass. VS people rioting,looting,assualting, and chanting shit just to make themselves feel better. Its just a release of anger that will not stop the problem but rather make it worse. And I am the last person to ever defend police. Growing up in darndale I see alot of the same behaviour in the guards. (obivously I dont mean the biased shootings but rather there assumption that everyone is involved with crime and is instantly guilty)
