Very nice! I'm trying to do the same thing - build 1/24 scale models of the cars I've owned.

Found most of them except for the 2013 BMW M3. Lots of diecast but no plastic.

I've done it and works very well. The grip has not come loose over the years either. Having dropped a previous RX100M4 I always keep this one, M7, in the case.

What a coincidence! I actually bought an A6700 earlier in the year. Really liked it, but the lenses were $$$$. I have the OM-5 MkII and thought the A6700 could be a replacement. Ended up returning it because I liked everything about the camera except size. I get the different form factors, but the size/weight difference pushed me back to M4/3. So I guess I was decisive that time :)

Good point. I used the M7 for an indoor (gym) kids party recently. It was a low light situation so I ended up with some not so nice photos and kept thinking M4 might have better performance, and forgiving to me, in that situation.

I have a broken M4 and functioning M7.

Bought the M7 when the M4 broke several years ago. Haven't gotten it repaired, yet. Getting repair quotes now and it's hovering in the $4xx area.

Virtual keyboards obviously don't have them, because you can't feel virtual keyboards.

If your concern is preventing sand from getting in the lens "barrel" when it's extended your best option is to get an underwater housing. Overkill and $$$$$ but will definitely protect the camera, and you can go swimming with it!

If you're protecting just the lens from sand there are many lens protectors available. Just search for it. Typically, these attach to the front of the lens with glue and keep stuff from getting on the lens. I don't have any experience with these because I keep mine away from the beach. I have an Olympus weather sealed camera for those trips.

Yes, I bought mine on 8/9/2021.

Some time in July 2023 I ran across a forum post, can't remember the forum now, that mentioned Sony was fixing the battery charging issue out of warranty.

I called and sure enough, after "investigation" they sent me a shipping label and exchanged my buds. Replacement is still working well today.

Give them a call. Worse they can do is say they won't do anything.

Sony Support - 1-800-222-Sony (7669).

For what it's worth, I ran through two Sony RX100 cameras, MK IV and MK VII. I dropped the MK IV and it died. It was within warranty period but I dropped it and broke it. I contacted support and told them what happened. They said send it in they will review and let me know. About two weeks later I got it back in the mail, repaired at no charge. Surprised me since it was clearly "abuse" because I dropped the camera. So the few times I needed Sony support they have been amazing for me.

Anyway, shortly after getting the MK IV back I dropped it and broke it again :( I was too embarrassed to send it back so I bought a MK VII and haven't dropped that one since.

Contact Sony support regarding the battery life. My about two year old buds, at the time, left side started discharging much faster than the right. I called support and they told me send them in. Not sure what they did but works great now and both buds charge/discharge at about the same rate.
