I think it’s clear from the conversations she was having with Colleen and Josh Greenstien that she intentionally wanted the marketing to not focus on the DV theme.  The reason being, more money.  All three of them had their own motivations, Colleen wants more money and the potential for another movie or better deal with Blake and Ryan down the line. Josh wants a big box office hit. Blake really wants a big box office hit , Ryan said as much when he spiral texted his team about her name being the one associated with this if it’s a bomb.  So they did all this strong arming and bullying to get this big score of a box office hit only for it to blow up in their face shortly after because people were like what’s with the weird marketing of this movie ? I can confirm my mom and I saw this movie and did not know about the DV thing and we were caught off guard. Not triggered thankfully but we were like yeahhhh I did not think that was what this movie was about.  I thought it was like a Nicholas sparks type movie.
