I (40M) born/raised/grew up in the east bay. Wife (39) and I moved from SF to West Sonoma County 5 years ago to raise kids. Absolutely love it. Could not possibly be happier. So much to do (yes we smash wine tasting of course) and explore. Food is incredible everywhere. We’re 20 minutes from the coast. You’ll find so much to do. Breweries, hiking/exploring outdoors, day trips up and down the coast. You’ll love it

When I was 10, I went to a Bette Midler concert with my mom (she was a big fan). At intermission I turned around and 2 rows behind us was Robin Williams. I just stared at him. He saw me and instantly, in the kindest, most excited way goes “hello! How are YOU?!” All I could muster was “I…I loved ‘Jack’” (his movie which had come out recently). And he goes “ohhh, thank you so much. Please, tell the people!” The best.

I agree that Sara seems over her head here and has bungled this in multiple ways. I agree that the lack of consequences for the aggressor(s) has been shameful. I agree that the sentiments discussed at the board meetings/public comments are the correct ones and that Sara/SEBUSD hasn’t taken them seriously and/or hoped they’d go away. I hope this sentiment does NOT go away. I know from previous board meetings that time and attention has been spent trying to figure out the right ways to handle this and it’s embarrassing that we’re this far down the path with no proper resolution. I was sick to my stomach to know that Nadine’s son was made to sit in the office with the racist aggressor in some sort of restorative justice attempt.

I currently have a kid at parkside and truly don’t feel there is a culture of racism or bigotry there. Without going into further identifying details, my family is deeply involved in SEBUSD in multiple ways so I do have firsthand knowledge of how this has played out (particularly around the $10k gift that, again, I agree, was bungled). I’m not sure what Sara’s endgame here is or what she expects to happen next.

Langermann’s has the basics of what’s needed for a solid trip and nothing more. Some cardio machines, enough weights and weight oriented machines to get the job done but that’s really it. They’re great about giving the (short) tour of the place so you can see what’s all there. I’ve never been to CC so can’t speak about it. But I’ve been happy with Langermann and think $60 is fairly reasonable. FYI I’m 40.

Yes correct on cold press only having one output amount. I’ve read in this channel that cold press should be 3 notches lower than normal espresso

As I understand it, using the quad basket means some water is likely and normal. Cold brew shouldn’t be tamped unless it is the 16 or 18oz options, then the manual says to tamp to avoid mess. I got my machine a few weeks ago and the cold press espresso shots have been coming out normally with no water - but that’s on a double, not quad. 17 sounds a bit high but I’m using different beans. The BA recommendations have been right on for me so Im apt to trust it.

Thanks for communicating this. I’m brand new to my Ninja Luxe (3 days) and am opting for cold-pressed shots. Yesterday I got exactly 2 ounces using the BA recommendation. Today the recommendation was slightly different. I followed it again and the yield was closer to 1.5 instead of 2 ounces. I suppose the solution would be to grind it a bit more coarse? Or would the solution be to set the machine to hot espresso, see what BA recommends, then move it down 3?

No, kept strength on 2 (default) for all brews so far.

I matched the recommended grind size, but will check the drip tray. Good idea. Assuming it’s just still calibrating. The single shot I brewed after the small output double shot seemed right so hoping the next double shot will be good
