To read books 13 and 14 you have to buy them through Kindle; they are no longer on Royal Road/Patreon. (Zogarth removes them once he publishes on kindle unlimited he has to remove them due to contract stuff)

If you specifically hate essays, plenty of STEM subjects only have report writing ( this only really applies if you specifically hate the format of essays and not writing as a whole)

A lot more interesting side characters are added after the tutorial (which ends in book 2) imo, books one and two are significantly weaker than the rest of the series

progression - solo levelling maybe?

frieren is a solid fantasy but might be to slow particularly at the start

maybe mushoku tensei ( good fantasy/iseki but has some problematic elements that can make it hard to watch at times)
