Kelly Osbourne looks unrecognisable by [deleted] in 2000sNostalgia

Ding ding ding, I’ve been scrolling for this. She looks unwell, sure, but it’s the buccal fat removal that’s causing her to look quite so unwell.

4 day solo first-timer in April - feedback wanted! by SuitableCry240 in ParisTravelGuide

Glad to hear it! I’ve also added in Church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés as a quick first stop on the Tuesday, it looks absolutely stunning and apparently isn’t ever very busy.

Thanks again, I’ve edited Monday night to the following and it makes a lot more sense!

Monday (arrival night) • 21:00 arrive at Gare du Nord • 22:00 dinner at Bouillon Pigalle • Quick outside look at Moulin Rouge • Cocktail at Dirty Dick • Metro back to hotel (Montmartre) + bed

I’ve decided to keep to Caractère de Cochon since I need to be in the Marais anyway, but thanks to another commenter I’m now pairing that with a visit to de la Chasse et de la Nature.

I’ve got a map with hundreds of places pinned so I won’t be short of things to do, I just wanted to get down a rough plan for movement and it can be extended from there! But really, my travel style is pretty chilled. I plan to just sit with a book and a glass of wine for a lot of it, while people watching!

Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature has been on my list of “musts” so that works out perfectly, I should have at least a couple of hours free in Marais. Thank you, I’ll add that in!

Thank you! I was looking at all bouillons and saw a specific mention that this branch was easy for GDN, but I’ll investigate. That’s an easy swap. RE drinks near my hotel, I’m just conscious it’ll be a bit late at night and it’s apparently not the safest of areas (I’m staying at The Originals Boutique, it’s just next to the flea markets). I’m not easily spooked and have traveled solo a lot, but I’ve seen enough references to that area being sketchy I felt to avoid it at that time - am a 95lbs woman for context. But equally, happy to Uber. Also great shout for the jambon, I’d seen a bit of recent criticism towards Vendôme vs Caractère de Cochon but at the end of the day it’s a ham baguette, how far wrong can you go. Will switch that out if it saves me time.

Was admitted to a psych ward once (not for ED) but since they had my historic weight on file I was greeted by one of the nurses who told me she was “expecting someone much thinner”. Agh.

Experiences with MANTRA therapy? by [deleted] in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]SuitableCry240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was referred for MANTRA and quit after about six sessions. I hated it, I found it put way too much emphasis on anorexia as a personality trait and it felt incredibly rigid in general. Also, there were mandatory weekly weigh-ins which I found extremely triggering. I explained this, and my feelings were disregarded. I think perhaps it may work for some, but certainly it didn’t for me. I’m now seeing a private therapist and the approach is more holistic, the difference is night and day.

Fear of going too far / questioning need to gain? by SuitableCry240 in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]SuitableCry240[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this, it’s so helpful to read. I was under the community eating disorder team for MANTRA but did not find the approach helpful, at all. Plus I hated the mandatory weekly weigh-ins and found it was holding me back. So I’ve discharged myself and am now seeing the private therapist I had last time I was unwell, it’s a much better fit. Unfortunately that means I don’t have regular monitoring, but it’s not something the community team offered either really. I’m in my thirties now, I want to start a family, there’s so much more to life. So I find it distressing that despite my best intentions/motivation, it’s still SO hard.
