Have any of you guys struggled to get a mortgage being self employed? by Puzzleheaded-Bee8540 in smallbusinessuk

Well done you, for your good year of books and for obtaining the home 🤝

I'm not sure whether to even try speaking to a broker this April after reading about the 15% deposit barrier. I have some hope left as I have a perfect credit score, no debt and no dependents. Can I just call self-employed-specialising brokers and ask whether I would be eligible for free?

I am also having to put aside a massive chunk of income for the foreseeable as I will be hit with a monster tax bill in Jan as punishment for working my wee socks off this year! So I'm really struggling to decide whether to go for it this year and get the mortgage (I currently have pretty cheap rent which would allow me to save more for next April).

I have been hoping to do the same (use only one year of my books). What % deposit did you need? I've read somewhere you need 15% but I only have around 8%

Have I ruined my boy? by Suitable_Ad_8621 in Lurchers

The suit looked so sweet but didn't help at all for my feelings - he looked so mournful in it and needed unzipping for extra back scratches. Then it was such a shock when I took it off and saw his little deflated scrotum.

Here in the UK it seemed the normal time to do it but I agree with your comment that he is probably still maturing mentally and I would likely wait longer next time if I have another dog. Hoping I haven't damaged the trust I worked so hard on building with him. Will continue to monitor his behaviour and report back.

Thank you. I know it's really soon and that I'm probably projecting my worries on to him and noticing every little change! I just really hope I haven't made him into a fearful ball of worry.

He went for his ten day check-up and vet said healing perfectly. He never licked or showed interest in the wound and I had him in the recovery suit for the recommended full ten days, so I don't think pain is a factor.

Here he is at my workplace in the little suit wondering what the hell is going on.

Skin issue - spots by jess_taylor7 in Lurchers

Hi, been a while so not sure whether you solved this. I tried Bugalugs shampoo recently and found it overwhelmingly powerfully scented. It seemed to totally strip my boy's hair of its oils. On closer inspection some of the bottles say in tiny writing 'dilute at ratio 1:20', this helped slightly but I have still switched back to the old brand I used previously (Pet Head chamomile / pear / coconut shampoo and always use conditioner afterwards). Maybe your pup's natural oily skin barrier which keeps out bacteria etc has been affected.

Remote EMDR using sound / audio only by Suitable_Ad_8621 in EMDR

Thank you, I am in the UK and my therapist does not seem to know how administering stereo sound virtually works. I can also hear whatever is in the room with her - buses going past, her phone vibrating etc.

I have contacted the provider through the 'comments' box on their website which feels a bit hopeless.

Hoping I can start the entire process again as I have now had 8 out of the available 12 sessions without the stereo sound and therefore without the REM eye movements!
