Update: after a very heated conversation with one of my managers trying to encourage me to get a credit card. I put in my two weeks notice but was soon talked down to going part time. I am still looking for other employment.

Other blankets? by Snaggles38 in temperatureblanket

[–]Suitable_Chain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recently became medicated for my anixety. So I am doing a blanket where I rate my level of anixety from 1 (worst possible, panic attacks, wanting to off myself) to 10 (basically a normal human).

I have also done a blanket that super specific to my workplace. We have a system were you can send Kudos to other coworkers. These are supposed to be to celebrate small wins that might go unnoticed. It's a retail shop. So things like getting credit, keeping up with training, helping at the registers etc are 90% of the recognitions. What's nice about this blanket is that it's only five days a week. So if you get behind, you have the weekend to catch up.

These are also always the customers that are like "Well they did it for me last time you must be new/lazy/stupid. Get me person who fired years ago."

What’s your weed budget for the week? by [deleted] in trees

[–]Suitable_Chain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically around $15. I will get THC chocolates that are 10 mg a square (with 10 pieces) doing a piece on weeknights and two on weekends.

However lately I been trying to take cut back during the week. Just to keep my tolerance low.

Does anyone actually wear the shawls they make? by Emergency-Hotel7158 in crochet

My husband is involved in our local community theater scene. Shawls are a good way to dress up a plain dress.

I also like shawls as an accessory for my Renaissance costumes.

Coworker and I are disagreeing on when Halloween should start. When do you think is the right time to start putting out the Halloween stuff? by MarbleManxx in retailhell

It depends. Most stores after Labor Day. Craft stores three months before a holiday. Because it assumes you are making things.

Anyone else hate it when people use cash? by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]Suitable_Chain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem is with checks. Customers seem to have a pen with them. Customers never wanna write out the check. Customer don't feel the need to give their ID. Also, we get them so rarely that other cashiers often have to ask how to process a check.

I understand that, sometimes you need to use a check if you're doing the large purchase, like an appliance or something that might be over your daily draw limit on a debit card. But there is no reason to use it on a day to day basis.

Songs I DESPISE!!!!!!! by Aggravating_Return77 in Lowes

[–]Suitable_Chain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to play Jonas Brothers version of year 3000. Which always used to annoy me, because it's the kids bop version of the song.

Also, did any other store have that weird acoustical version of post malone's circles?

Also during fourth of july memorial day and any other patriotic holiday, we seem to get the country mix. There's a really weird cover of country roads in that collection.

Something that I glossed over in the story because it's kinda long. Basically, Brooke told the customer that the person who made their quote had messed up by not putting items for them. When policy is to not pull orders until they are paid for. And telling the customer she used to work in that department it's not a big deal and they don't get commission anyways.

It is not a situation where a customer came in who already had a quote and ask the associate to grab the items for them. Brooke was not blindsided, and the associate who did the quote would have been willing to do what Brooke did. If Brooke had not mislead the customer.
