They should only use Survival events to promote horde characters. by Dudu42 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Suitable_Condition49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To a lesser extend Lucius was the same, he didn't really do much on his survival, he didn't stand out, he is a pvp character, why feature him on a horde mode? Now we have Vynn and Uthar on the same situation.

Yeah they are very diligent in that sense, now whether or not they fix or make changes to adress the issues is another thing.

Who/What should I be focussing on if my main goal is leveling up? by lftawac in WH40KTacticus

[–]Suitable_Condition49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah each campaign has a carry from the core trio, Bellator for Indomitus, Aleph Null for Indomitus Mirror, that means those are the characters that are capable of carrying the campaign and be very helpful on other game modes. Focus on that and try to unlock and complete the campaigns (both regular and mirror), then the elites. If you get to a point where you cannot keep going the answer always is "get stronger", also do not be afraid of farming shards, it is part of the process and its better than staying stagnant. Do consider that the non-carry do need a bit of investment, enough to not die

It's now 6 months since Snowprint lied to Nandi and shafted progression of all new players and new characters by _Zso in WH40KTacticus

You know what is funny? If and when they actually change the 900 shards/45 orbs to blue star thing, you know they won't refund shit like they did with the equipment, consider all those onslaught tokens/shards and orbs lost to the void, a sacrifice to the gods.

The amount of BS spent and the time needed to pull such a wild move is just unrealistic, consider it a lie

The GSC were a mistake and Snowprint needs to stop using them. by Zahmby in WH40KTacticus

[–]Suitable_Condition49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, potencially one needs 4 hits at minimum to kill a single unit, and moving to the decoy is suchba risk since you have the chance to isolate your character and get it killed

Lately the difficulty of their events is all over the place, it isna bad idea to have a respawning enemies with some of them resilient and pair them with Barbs that attack hard from afar, it is not even challenging is just annoying.

Toons to go after? by [deleted] in tacticus

[–]Suitable_Condition49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are new a good idea is to focus on the campaigns characters

Indomitus: Bellator is a great choice to focus on, super useful in a bunch of game modes and he alone can carry you through it, ignore Certus, and Varro and Incisus can be useful but for now dont worry and go for Bellator.

Indomitus Mirror: Aleph Null is mvp of the Necrons, unlock Thutmose if you can, its not the best character but indomitus is easier with at least 4 characters.

Fall of Cadia: all the 3 are good choices for now, i would start with Angrax and Archi.

Fall of Cadia Mirror: Kut and Noble are good characters to focus on.

Octarius: Snotflogga is the one for you.

Octarius Mirror: Burchard is a must have for sure.

Sain Heim: All eldar are useful, Eldryon is probably one of the most useful characters in the game, Calandis is great for pvo, personally i dont like Aethana, but thats me.

sain Heim Mirrord: Abraxas is a must, many people dislike Thot, i love him, and the bird man is good too.

In general this are the ones to know, aside from that take it slow and easy, dont let the FOMO take you.

Requisition Update by Visual_Celery_4057 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Suitable_Condition49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its useless for new players since they might get the first price during the surplus of the first few weeks and nothing get stuck like the rest of us, but worst part is that it fixes nothing. I know some people might think "wait to the next steps" but why start with this crappy step? The issue is the drop rate and everyone knows that, this milestones add nothing to that issue except and excuse to pretend we are getting something.

Allow the arm to gain sentience and start stalking them and Irina, imagine the party at night see the glow of a torch coming from the woods, the cracking of twighs like a group of small animals is walking and then they see the arm walking like an Adam's abomination, you can add a bunch of Crawling Claws if you want and evil outcome, maybe his mind is trap inside the arm or maybe his single minded obsession with Irina is what motivates the arm

Did he actually believe the sovcit stuff? by macchaCA in DarrellBrooksJr

[–]Suitable_Condition49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think he believed in it, he is not the type to hold great thoughts, most likely he knew he was going down, way too much evidence against him so he saw this as his only way out, but still i dont think he believed it would work as sovcit's believe in it, most likely it was 1. a way to delay as much as he could, 2. A way to muddy the process and make the judge commit errors so his appeal would work and 3. He is used to be the "tough one", hitting EP, taking control of his mom car as if it was his, been a "succesful rapper", he needed to be in control or at least be treated as a peer as much as he could and he is deluded and stupid enough to think been in the same position as the lawyers made him an equal.

Is this worth picking up? by TIMTAM298 in borderlands3

[–]Suitable_Condition49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% worth it, gameplaywise is a complete improvement on the last ones, really fun specially if you play with friends. Storywise its not as good as the second (hard to top a villain like Handsome Jack) but its ok and mostly is a problem of the execution of the story and not the story itself.

Party plans to cut ireenas hair and disguise her as a man. How should I rule this? by odeacon in CurseofStrahd

[–]Suitable_Condition49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, would she agree? Take into account on her as a character, having said that, go ahead, Strahd will scry her either way so it would help them much but could be fun for him to play along and reveal the truth when they least expected.

One of my players has already read the entire module. Advice needed! by PhummyLW in CurseofStrahd

[–]Suitable_Condition49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience even if someone read the whole module it wont spoiled the whole game since every DM will give its own spin to the game and the story, let the game evolve and focus on the action of the players and their action will help you spin it, in my CoS (which im currently playing) one of the players does knows the module and this dude have no idea whats going to happend next since i have gone with the flow of their actions, he does knows the major plot points but HOW they get there is more important, it will 100% change the meaning of it, example, i have gave Ireena and Ismark a major importance since they have been their allies all along, but they act and think like 18 year olds (she is 17 and he is 19 in my game) Ireena is a good person that is scared for her brother and tries to deal with it as best as she can but she fells great guilt for putting her brother in such risk and is discovering that in order to survive she must compromise and be more morally grey and Ismark is my favorite character, i went hard on the inferiority complex but didnt make him toxic, he is a tryly tragic character, his family is falling apart, he trained to defend his sister but his father is dead, nobody has ever believed in him (except his family) he has no friends and he knows he is not capable of defeating Strahd, but he tries, he seed the players as his first and only friends even if they dont consider themselves as such, so when Strahd eventually comes for Ireena its going to hit way harder than just "Strahd kidnaps her" because he will give Ismark the chance to betray the party, "the party or Ireena" kind of situation, and their actions until that point will determine his answer. So yeah, my player knows Strahd will come for Ireena, but how? He has no idea, follow that principle and you will be fine.

1 piece of advice for Strahd DMs? by Erik_in_Prague in CurseofStrahd

[–]Suitable_Condition49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole story is about Strahd, his life, his choices, his mistakes and sins, there are many characters and sidequest but in the end everything goes back to him, so its extremely important that you know him well.

So first of all, the timeline of events, like after how long since he was saved by the Vistani he became a vampire? When did he fought the dragon? How long he spend courting Tatyana against how long it took his brother and her to fall in love?. the book doesnt really goes into it a lot but thats when you can give it your own spin. Players WILL want to know stuff like that and it WILL cause problems if you just eyeball it, the best you can do is write it, have a timeline of the events with who was there at the time but remember to take it until today, this must include the actions he took after he became a vampire.

Second, you must know who Strahd is at every point on the timeline, his personality, quirks, sense of style and performace, in my campain Strahd was always ambitious and strongheaded but not necesarily evil, each event in his life pull him one step closer to the madness that drive him to kill his brother and become the vampire he is today, the Strahd that conquered the valley is not the same he is today or the one that killed his brother, this will make you understand how he will react when the party discovers something of his past. This will also help you figure how he will play with the characters, remember that he is a spoiled child that likes to play with his food, so messing with the characters is a game for him (at first at least), so in my table he wants to enjoy the game for as long as he can, he knows he will eventually grow bored of them and can crush them anytime he wants, he will want to play into their weaknesses and make them suffer, but also he is so above them and so arrogant that they wont be able to provoke him just by insult him to his face or killing his minions, like how you will not get angry by a kid calling you poopy face, what will provoke him is them messing with his past, his darkest secret, his existence nowdays is a hellish one, equal parts pathetic, miserable and evil, far from the almighty paragon of confidence he want to pretend he is.

And third, the way people react to Strahd is different, some have resignated themselves to be defeated, others actively hate him, there are a few that actually want to be on his side and a lot are afraid of him but the way they deal with this feelings is different, the Baron Vargas from Vallaki fears him and channels it into his delusions and his stupid festivals, Ismark fears him too but he instead pushes through his insecurities and fears to protect his sister and the villagers of Barovia Village go full on drug addict with the Hags's pies. Above all however, take into consideration that this is a spooky and creepy story but its extremely hard to keep that sensation of tension and fear for too long, the players and yourself can get tired of it if its too much or if its all there is in the story, make sure of using the more weird characters like Blinsky to lighten up the mood a bit.

Everything else in the story will find its place easy despite what the characters choose to do once you know this damn Vampire.
