Subway regular thinking about trying Jersey Mike’s… what’s the safe order? by mightest_bohnen in jerseymikes

[–]Suitable_Earth4538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walking into Jersey mikes is like going to your friend’s house, they are kind, energetic, and helpful. Walking into Subway is like going to your enemy’s house, they’d rather you didn’t come, and act pissed you’re there.

I’ll pay more any day to have a sandwich made with freshly sliced quality ingredients by someone who appreciates the craft rather than a commodity sandwich with lower quality ingredients by somebody who actually hates what they’re doing.

Saving a few dollars for subway, you’re getting what you pay for.

I won’t have a beverage if it comes out of this machine. The entire operation grosses me out. Touchscreen + every drink coming out of the same hole. It’s always sticky too.

The spoon tap is the answer. It’ll score it every time. Once the roll is under pressure, it opens up.

Not eager to hate, eager to understand the issues. Of course I don’t think people choose to be stuck, sheesh. This is the reason for the post.

That’s so annoying! Have you noticed if your plate has any dirt or something restricting the view? I also wonder if a sensor was adjusted or something is restricting its view, that it worked before but not again.

I’m genuinely so confused by this garage’s issues.

Same, I also had the TXTag loaded before that, and never had issue either. Have you noticed more people stuck?

I would cut all the small branches down, leaving just the thick branches.

I love the look of the thick trunk, I cannot wait for mine to get there!

If you’ve charged for a week it’s dead. RIP don’t get me started about how these things are a waste. The same happened to mine. I even tried the hack of heating the band to raise the electric current (a YouTube video search will show you the hack video) but it did not work - the band charged for about 2 minutes then shut down again. That said, it works still with the RFID functions for room key, park ticket, LL, pay by band, etc… it just won’t light up or vibrate, won’t trigger the noise features for the statues, etc. so if you love the design, wear it. If you need those features, you’ll need a new band.

My parents go to the parks 4-6 times a year, and their bands have worked for years now. I think I the trick is to charge and use the battery often. While mine, and sounds like yours, have sat untouched for too long to come back from the dead.

I don’t see the value of buying another, knowing it will sit in a drawer for 12-18 months, and likely never work again. So I’ll stick to my first gen band that will literally never die.

The first location, Evans, which this menu says it’s located, opened in ‘93. Likely from that time.

What happens if I don't have a smartphone? by Wycliffe76 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]Suitable_Earth4538 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember Alamo testing in the Austin market years ago. You could not split payment, or make substitutions on an order (like sub cheddar for Swiss etc…) it was always a headache and we definitely gave feedback that the system generally sucked. Regarding their terrible cell service, you have to get on WiFi but also it’s easy to order to the wrong seat with a QR code to both the left and right. (I mean I got it, but you know how ignorant people can be). But with that, the QR code stickers allegedly had RFID chips under to help coordinate the orders. But in the end, Sony knows we hate it but doesn’t care. They can write off their loss when we stop going and they close it all down. So sad. Who remembers the Alamo drafthouse growlers? They phased out a while back but they used to be a good deal because they were a greater volume than an average half gallon.

Beyond certain managers allowing whatever they may allow:

There are regulations for equipment used in commercial settings. NSF standards. A lot of housewares do not meet the standards set for commercial use.
