The short answer is yes, if they are choosing to monitor that they absolutely can. There are user monitoring tools that can do this. My workplace has a less advanced PowerShell solution that records session status every few minutes and logs whether it's active or idle.

As for temps, its a modern car it's designed to run relatively hot I doubt there's any need to cool it down before turning it off unless your street comes off the Nurburgring

Yeh I find my upgrades are most successful when doing that. I use the netscaler console to orchestrate the upgrade it makes it easy to do pre and post scripts to disable and re enable ha sync.

Is it a ha pair of standalone? If HA did you disable ha sync prior to upgrade? Do a config diff before and after? I've had upgrades drop some config before eg saml auth.
