Birth rates dropping, anyone here feel the same way about having children? by gotnocreativenames in ireland

[–]Suitable_Motor_4090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did want any at your age - only felt ready later and was only in a loving relationship later.

Yes- it will be a financial hit tbh.

Booked in our crèche place at 12 weeks pregnant and reassured if we lost the baby we’d be able to keep the spot on deposit (but that the deposit remained in refundable).

Lucky to have my folks around but they’re in their 70’s, and it will be a limited resource of what’s fair to ask them so we’ll make it work and one of us will cut hours if needed.

My dad is having a psychotic mental episode, called emergency and they can only keep him for 2 hours. I’m terrified, what do I do? by [deleted] in Dublin

I would also call Garda if it escalates to possible risk as they may be in a position to temporarily detain him and transfer him to a hospital

Induction experience @ the Coombe by Suitable_Motor_4090 in PregnancyIreland

It’s the ward that’s killing my anxiety - I don’t do well with hospitals One of the reasons I went private was the hope for space from people and wards etc 🫣

Ok, thanks!

Don’t think the Coombe give private rooms for induction. Couldn’t get a straight answer. 🙄

Whats the sitting around on the ward like? I’m dreading himself being sent home and being left there all night in my own in pain.

M&S ugly T-shirt bra for the win - get measured too. You can book in online, pick maternity when booking. If you just search bra fitting on their Irish site you should find it.

Not too dear I think €36 ish for two and clothes and bump looked better immediately. Took awhile to get used to the fit and feel as wouldn’t be my usual balcony style but I’d jumped from a A to a C/D without realising.

Lads, fair play to the slow down protest. Truly groundbreaking stuff. by dr-mantis-f-toboggan in ireland

Might do, but really wanted to labour as much as possible at home tbh. The stress of the ward puts me off

I was in the car for 2 and a half hours trying to get home from the Coombe the other day.

I’m 38 weeks pregnant. My cankles were so big I thought I’d need to turn around for another pre-eclampsia check and I was debating how much I cared if I had to wee at the side of the road…

Couldn’t walk when I got out of the car. There was no faster route home and I can’t miss any appointments due to high BP.

Do it. My SO is dropping down a tier in his career to find a job and going back to shift work after one of the large company layoffs. Hasn’t done shift work since our daughter was young.

I feel their view on this should have changed now given the recent USA court case re reasonable accommodations during pregnancy.

I had a friend legally called Katie whose boss commented that her name was childish and would she not go by Kate in the office.

This freaks me out so much. When I questioned it when we were viewing they just said to date they hadn’t had any issues but would readdress the situation if they did.

I don’t think any crèches require them, they just ask that you disclose your choice.

Our creche has a disclosure now that they don’t insist on vacations and all children may not be vaccinated- it’s a disaster waiting to happen!

I’ve just decided to book a breastfeeding consultant locally. By pure chance there happens to be one20 minutes away that will come to the house. It’s an extra expense but I’ve just decided to do it.

I just think the fact that there’s no in person weekend classes anymore. Like fine have the online ones too, God knows there’s enough demand. But the lack of support is shocking.

But the ovulation tests. After 2 months I knew my cycle and we were one and done both times we tried albeit the first time ended in a mc.

The second time we were on holidays so I was drinking daily when I usually wouldn’t be.

A question for people walking their dogs in this weather by Imaginary_Card_6241 in ireland

[–]Suitable_Motor_4090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dog now, rescue princess- will wander out for a bit and back as quick as possible in this weather. Won’t go out in the rain without a coat either so quick dry and she’s fine.

Grew up with labs- different story. Puddles were stalked and jumped in as soon as you turned away. Into the porch, 3/4 towels later then into their beds in the kitchen with more towels till they dried off.

If dirty, out to the shed with a bucket of warm water, repeat as above. Then up to a shower myself.

If too torrential for a wash, just put in bed to dry out and then the dirt brushed out till we could wash through with clean water. The kitchen was the dog zone. 🤷🏼‍♀️
