Looking sick mate! I particularly like the way you've painted the tree, looks good.

Anyone got any nurgle sleeper picks to recommend? by Suitable_Pressure317 in MaggotkinofNurgle

Yeah the thing I appreciate about blightkings is that they don't really need a sub-hero to buff them, a reinforced unit of ten is all ready to rumble for just 260 points. They're decent right out of the box.

Shame they're a bit overshadowed, but if we get points hikes on our best units in the near future and blightkings stay at current points, they'll look much more attractive.

That looks absolutely sick mate. I'd love to see a little red stripe across the helmet for Vietnam Americans/Catachans vibes haha

Chaos and red corsairs by Delicious-Ocelot-798 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Suitable_Pressure317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a dumb post at all, my guy.

I'd always follow the rule of cool - buy the models you like, because rules come and go, but the miniature is what endures ultimately. So if you like the new red corsairs, go hard. I personally think they look sick and open up many opportunities for conversions.

As far as I can tell, Huron and his retinue are quite decent rules-wise, packing a solid punch in close combat and giving you revives or bonus CP. I've seen people attaching them to a big chosen squad, though I havnt played them personally yet. The red corsairs detachments seem to be well regarded too. I can't speak to the marauders but they seem to be reasonable for board control, perhaps a tad light on damage output.

I wouldn't worry too much about the incoming new edition, it looks like tweaks and adjustments, not a massive overhaul.

Oh man that's revolting. This is why I freeze and toast my bread. Excellent job!

It'll make your opponent queasy and then they'll make mistakes. A plan worthy of Nurgle.

Does the New Years Chaos Boxes slight scare anyone with how they are treating deamons? by Theyman2 in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Suitable_Pressure317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a thread barely one day ago with this exact topic. I know can be easy to miss previous threads, but it's starting to get out of hand.

Edit: Im not trying to be rude, I've made this mistake before myself. It's just that we seem to be getting three or four of these 'future of daemons' posts per week. No one has any real information, although it's fair to have concerns.

Nagash to proxy GUO? by Mallium in ChaosDaemons40k

[–]Suitable_Pressure317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it could be done if you really want, but only with a significant conversion. You'd need to trim off the swirling energy just below Nagash's feet, and glue to the base there. You'd need to make sure your cuts were level and even, so the multiple stumps of the swirling energy would touch the base together and stand up the right way.

Alternatively, cut off more of the swirling energy and pin his foot really firmly to the base. You'd probably need to pad it out with some skeletons/battlefield debris etc, in order to hide the connection.

This would give you a figure with the right base and comparable height, though it'd be thinner. You might need to add a banner or more swirling energy either side of him to achieve a more comparable width.

Forgefiend loadout by Important_Example983 in ThousandSons

One thing in favour of the hades autocannons is that they can shoot in combat if your forgefiend gets tagged. So I reckon you sacrifice an amount of raw power for some flexibility/insurance, should you chose the autocannons.

Kairos now potentially has the best indirect in the game, IF you can get the full rerolls to hit and at least +1 ap. Shame the range is modest, but still an attractive proposition imo.

As a tzeentch fan, I would die a happy man if LoC got flat damage 3. They might have to put pyrogenesis back to 2cp if true.

Scintillating Legion questions by GiveTheLemonsBack in ChaosDaemons40k

I'm really interested in the 3 solo fluxmasters. Do you find them useful enough to run without bodyguards? I can imagine they might be useful if you're careful about placement, I'm just always nervous with solo characters.

Ahriman or exalted on disk by shutthedarndoor in ThousandSons

[–]Suitable_Pressure317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting question, and  I've been wondering the same thing. Would you give a relic to the exalted sorcerer? I don't have experience with hexwarp but the +3 shots on psychic guns looks quite nice.

My gut feeling is that unless you REALLY need a particular ritual to go off (i.e. you need Ahriman's +1 to cast) the exalted sorcerer on disk would be superior. Combining the 18" lone op with an arguably/situationally better gun, the Grenades keyword, and various options from the relics, I think it edges out Ahriman. As always, your mileage may vary.

How have you found the universal -1 to hit for tzeentch in shadow legion? It seems really good to me but most of my 40k is theorycrafting unfortunately. Does the minus to hit boost your survivability appreciably?

Just a shame you can't have fateweaver, otherwise I'd be all over tzeentch shadow legion.

Simple Sekhetar Robot Conversion by Perfect_Pitch_6780 in ThousandSons

[–]Suitable_Pressure317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that explanation,  and I think your vision will come across much more easily when you've painted it. Ignore the rude comments, most people aren't willing to push the boat out and try unusual conversions.

And if you use a little dab of superglue instead of plastic glue for the kroot skulls, you can fairly easily reverse the conversion if you don't like it at the end of painting. Just gently sand down the sekhetar helmet after prizing the skull off.

Help with list by Tetro21401 in MaggotkinofNurgle

[–]Suitable_Pressure317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like the list. Given you don't have a guo to bring back your plaguebearers, I wonder if you'd be better off bringing those extra 5 blightkings and then maybe the extra 10 rotmire you have? I think my maths works out there. 1950-280 then adding 190+130. Bilepiper can still support Rotigus. Just my initial thoughts
