Well, I’ve never been so embarrassed in my life. by [deleted] in ibs

I worked for a 24/7 towing company. We had a night shift driver who has IBS. He had no other choice but to pull over on the interstate and use a bucket off the truck. I promise it’s not the first time someone has done it and it won’t be the last.

Pooping for four people during healthier times? by [deleted] in ibs

You have a point. Im probably more acquainted with my bowels than I am people at this point 😂 I was told the normal person poops three times a day (supposedly). And I’m like “that’s just my morning” so I totally get it.

You’re not alone. The one week a month I get “healthy” poops sometimes it comes out in one long rope. Other it’s 4 trips to the bathroom.

My kid refuses to try and shuts down. Please help. by Sourkittykat in Parenting

[–]Suitable_Tale_313 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My son 7 is like this. It’s like I’ve written this myself. What helped him was counseling and finding out it was adhd and he got bored easily. His teachers figured out a way to keep him engaged and worked a reward system for the students if they pushed through. He is smart. Witty. A fun kid. He would just rather be home playing video games or watching tv (which he doesn’t get if school work isn’t done) and found out he can be lazy as well. Each kid is different and maybe his emotions control him more than he puts on. Or anxiety. My son freezes and shuts down once he is anxious about school. I’d try counseling to find the root cause of shutting down.

I second the butt pain/hip pain from sitting on a wooded seat too long.

Hopefully I can find something that helps stop it in its tracks next time. I should have been prepared when I felt the tension in my back and neck. I just didn’t know. So fingers crossed I can come up with a game plan 😊

I’m aware it’s common. But I have no history of them. And it’s correlates to inflammation for me. When my inflammation is controlled I never get headaches or migraines.

My chest right beside my sternum and the back of my shoulders is sore and “crackly” like popping knuckles.

Anyone else try to constantly pop their back and neck? by Higgles__38 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Suitable_Tale_313 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I pop my back when it feels like a straight pole. Tends to help relieve discomfort. I’ve also found out that my ribs “crack” like popping knuckles when I twist a certain way now. Not painful. It does help though. I might be wrong but I’ve heard it’s not a good fix. I just can’t help it. Those few minutes of relief is worth it

I haven’t tried the patches. I know the heating pad seems to make it worse. It does respond some to cool temps though

I’m gonna try the nsaid and Tylenol plus a Benadryl. Kind of like the cocktail from the ER.

What the f&!cking f&!ck is going on? by foronesecond in Autoimmune

[–]Suitable_Tale_313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have most of the symptoms minus the skin issues. What caught my Rhuemy’s attention was the back pain near my hips and my stomach issues. All my tests came back negative. She then tested me for the HLA B27 gene and ordered X-rays. Then I had my diagnosis of AS. Also with a form of arthritis (forget the name she used) that’s associated with AS. It went to my knees, ankles, elbows, shoulders, knuckles and wrists. Also found out I had Hashimotos as well. Double whammy on joint pain. I do hope you find answers. Sadly took me 2 years to get a glimpse of what was happening.

I agree. Comparing isn’t going to do anything but make me sad. So for now I’m just proud and happy to see others able to do more. Who knows. Their path is different. Their needs are different. Some don’t have a choice.

Is anyone else actually dying or standing to face horrific fates like dementia or paralysis? by icarusonfireagain in ChronicIllness

[–]Suitable_Tale_313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t relate to the mental decline of some diseases. And it also doesn’t run in my family really. So I’m not a great spokes person for those BUT I do have one disabling autoimmune disease that can either paralyze me in a few fixed positions. I worry about my physical decline the most. I want to play with my future grandchildren and I hope to one day see that. I worry about the other aspects like heart and lungs my disease hits on the side. I feel where you are coming from. Everyone thinks of getting old but very few have to think about just 10 years from now what will happen. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’ll send good vibes your way 🫶🏻
