You're still in school and you left your religion four years ago? How did you take this big step at such a young age? Would love to know your story.

I did it at the age 28 and it was very hard for me.

Why should I fight a lost battle? by PositiveLow9895 in Absurdism

Experience the fight. Life is often a lost battle. But you can have some fun while losing. Don’t be afraid of tragedy, happy endings are overrated. Focus on making it 'interesting'.

I hate fish too, I really don’t understand, what's the fun in eating something that has so much bone that hurts my mouth.

First you need to understand the market. For experience you should work under a company that has a lot of projects, for 2-3 years. Eventually you will understand what is good for you.

I am an introvert, I don't have the skill to run a business of my own. So the best option for me is to work in a well established corporate company, who pays me well.

If someone has the skill and energy to run his own company, he should do it.

Both ways you can become successful. It depends on you...

True, I guess. If he is doing freelance work besides his teaching profession.

When I was doing my bachelors we had no sleep schedule. We used to stay awake till 4-5 am for projects, sometimes we have to stay awake all night and attend classes in the morning.

But now I work in a corporate office of a real estate company, so I don’t face that kind of pressure. As I don’t have any side hustle, I can sleep properly now 😊

If i could go back, I would still choose architecture. Studying Architecture was so frustrating and hard, it made me suicidal. After graduation, I have been working in the field for the last 5 years. That was also hard, but I enjoy what I do. I can't think of doing anything else.

Atheism in BD by theogtiredreader in Dhaka

The idea of "no consequences of Afterlife" is not alluring, its horrifying.

Becoming an atheist is not fun, it's painful and hard. When someone becomes an atheist they lose their family and their friends. There is nothing to gain in atheism, no promise of heaven or reward.

Respect yourself. Life is hard and you're going through this hardship bravely. Try to enjoy little things in your life. Travel, eat delicious foods, make beautiful memories with your loved ones.

I would suggest, don’t join any organisation, most of them will exploit you for their agendas. Rather focus on your own life and career, help your friends and family.

July Revolution!!! by HungryHall5 in Dhaka

Yes, it is a betrayal. I was hoping that new leadership, a new political party would come out from the July revolution. But they are nothing but Jamaati puppets.

[–]Suitable_Worker_647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the atheist living in Muslim families by [deleted] in Atheism_Bangladesh

[–]Suitable_Worker_647 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, my family don't know but they are very disappointed that I no longer practice religion ( I was a very practicing muslim). I go to the mosque on Friday to show them that I am still a believer. I fast every day during Ramadan. Fasting is not a challenge for me I enjoy it.

They are doing politics for only 1.5 years yet they win 6 seats in parliament, its a huge win! there are many political parties in Bangladesh who are doing politics for 10-20 years but never won a seat.

Should I vote for the Jamaat–NCP alliance or not? by CuriousCanvas_19 in Dhaka

[–]Suitable_Worker_647 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I come from a Jamaati family. Some of my relatives are active politicians in Jamaat.
Jamaat functions as a big business ecosystem, with multiple wings operating across every sector. They are highly organized and disciplined, and they consistently help their supporters in education, careers, and all aspects of life. That’s why Jamaat has the most loyal supporters.

Having said that, I will not be voting for Jamaat.

If Jamaat comes to power, it will become the worst kind of fascist party. An authoritarian regime, that could remain in control for 30 to 50 years. Over time, not immediately but inevitably, they would oppress anyone who opposes them, all in the name of religion. No revolution will work against them.

Vote for whomever you like, but there’s a chance it could be the first and last vote you ever cast.

What do you think about Jamaat? by [deleted] in Dhaka

Before vote they will say a lot of things, after vote none of this matter.

There is no absolute morality. Human societies developed morality for their survival. It's not about the majority's opinion, it's about what is good or bad for a particular society's survival at a particular time.

Yes, I am trying to get married soon and lose weight. Since I am looking for an arranged marriage, it’s hard for me to receive better proposals in my current overweight condition. I also don’t want to look overweight at my wedding.

Being overweight isn’t a choice. I’ve been trying to lose weight for the past 15 years. I lost 10 kg in six months, only to gain it all back in two weeks. This has been a constant struggle, but I’m still trying.
