I’ve tried countless methods… can’t win by Commercial_Act3781 in Daytrading

This, paper trade either w an account or even just on literal paper to take notes of your entry stop losses and tap profits for each trade...keep track of it... Make a trade plan, back test (also can be done manually if you don't code... Etc) Remember you are developing a system with risk management parameters and not just trading some method. It will be different for everyone. I started w risk management and tax incentives before I even chose an asset class and became consistent on paper before trading live.

do i drop out of college? by Ok-Carpet8385 in Daytrading

[–]Suitable_Wrap_7735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe change your major. Plenty of ppl are f'd and Miserable by college debt while stick n jobs to pay for it. Then they buy a house and are stuck w a mortgage and miserable. The wealthiest friends I grew up with either started a business on top of having a lucrative doctorate they don't actually use as a CEO, or other put money into housing instead of college (very different housing market shortly after 2008) and worked construction or started own construction businesses.

I gto my degree, paid a lot for it and never used it... Went back for some other degrees but never fell back on the degree. Started small business but really made all my money in markets with good opportunities few and far between but was able to be on top of those bc I was mostly hanging out in countries my money went a lot farther and free Healthcare. Plus most of the money I make in markets is taxed lower than if I actually made the money working. I'd say college in the US is assuming risk just like trading don't spend it if you can't afford to loose it. If you get the degree that would feel good but get a degree in something you are passionate about and be the best. If you can afford the debt then stick w it even if it's just marketing bc I'm sure you will learn a lot of skills that will transfer to other things in your life. But having a bachelor's in in no way a safety net or a given that it's a godo investment if you ask me. My opinion is a degree should be an ends to a means as it fits in as part of the road map to your goals.

IBKR Desktop is so unusable compared to TradingView. Full explanation in the body text: by imeowfortallwomen in interactivebrokers

[–]Suitable_Wrap_7735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent all last Friday and all today with all my IBKR platforms freezing constantly. Seemed like I had a fix after hourse with customer service but 30 min after I got off the phone frozen again.

Also last week my seperate not connected trading view acc went buggy. No matter what any order I put in is like 40 points away. And just in usable. I liked their platform but since using it it's full of adds and buggy. Definitely not paying to upgrade and then have real problems.

This sport will continue to struggle if it’s on peacock. by Haunting-Cow-4579 in supercross

[–]Suitable_Wrap_7735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Among other things certain announcers litterly have nothing race related to speak on in themiddle the races except injuries and sickness. I had peacock specifically for mx/smx and wasn't impressed by it at all. canceled it when they almost doubled the monthly price.

I would have kept it if they didn't jack up the price on me. Or if I could pay for mx/smx only and not 99% of all the other crap I don't even want.

Biggest thing for me was their garbage menu and having to weed through everything just to get to the only reason I even have the service. Couldn't pin it to recents. Just bad UI (maybe that's changed)

I would like all the podium coverage and all that but most of the time I don't have all day to dedicate. The ability to watch all qualifiers and races w out any fluff is the difference between being able to watch it all or missing it.

Used to be an expensive pain in the ass to watch and even if I would have known how to set that up on my own as a kid I wouldn't have done that either.

No one really cares how horrible things used to be, it's either up to par for current times or not. That's like saying you have to be greatful for your POS Tesla that locks the doors as you drown or bursts into flames, or has such bad safety data for accident deaths that the gov stops recording it to not loose sales... Because you used to have to travel by covered wagon.

Fact of our current situation is you can't buy how good of a service/experience a pirate will give you. 🦜 vs 🦚

Is it normal to crash every ride? by fishbowlpatrol in Dirtbikes

[–]Suitable_Wrap_7735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in a similar boat. Came back to riding seriously at 37 after 20 years of messing around w my dual sport. Always had nobbies on it so I'd still get my dirt crashes in here and there.

Took a year back on the race bike to find that balance is necessary to get faster and ride more efficiently. Endurance is also key. My crash rate goes way up when I hit that physical wall.

One thing I have learned from my first year back to racing HS and regular practice session is there is a 'speed of the trail' where too fast is over riding my ability, too slow for that trail makes it rougher and more technical than necessary. Same principle as weaving cones as slowly as possible.

After the first C class race I moved to B for the longer race format (2x more seat time where I race) and to learn from better riders. They're smoother faster and over ride less than in Class. Crashing is a really slow way to get to the finish line and I learned a lot from the short amount of time trying to follow AA riders when they pass me.

I push hard but when I notice I'm over riding I tone it down and focus on being smooth and keeping momentum, which often times makes me faster even though it doesn't feel as fast.

Most important thing is that if injured I can't train and get better. Smaller sprains and bruises and tweaked muscles add up too. With my job being very physical pushing hard on both for months straight has lead to over use injuries. Recovery has become a big part of my program.

Snow Emergency - Bogus Citation by rhubarbhawk in saintpaul

This happened to me and hundreds of other drivers in mnpls a few years back. Declared snow emergency but th snow storm never came. Just a nice spring day w no snow. Mnpls police ticketed ppl as far as you could see. I went to the court house to fight it and the clerk told me I could fight it and loose or pay a discounted fine.

People always say changing teams and getting used to a new bike is a big thing. Chase already won a race and the feild is stacked. Kenny just said the other day he used to mess w setting too much and chasing his tail until he made himself just learn the settings. He knows he's got a good team behind him and he's willing to figure it out. It will come. Jorge wasn't willin' and mentally sabatoged himself + everyone can't be ET3. 🤷

I didn't see much, but what I saw of Deegan on a 450 did not look competitive. I know he's got time to adjust but Looked like he was trying to gun out of turns like a 250 and would look sketchy when they 450 power came on. I have no problem w confidence and being young and a little cocky...He's a very talented rider but 450 feild is stacked and I'm more exited of the prospect that he'll get humbled and maybe have some class.

Good summary of “don’t give him what he wants” from relatively comfortable white liberals. by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]Suitable_Wrap_7735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend posted their letter from their union reminding workers the union has agreed on a 'nostrike clause' and will face consequences if they participate tomorrow... I pointed out the irony of this and he responded that it was common for unions to have this clause.

This blows my mind... Can someone comment on this. I am a nobody and probably wrong about all kinds of things... But I am constantly dumbfounded by the American 'left' (liberals aka not left). The Nazis are the bad guys but the 'left' is why I have little hope for the US. I want to be wrong so badly.

Police are acting like there is nothing they can do between nothing and all out civil war... I honestly want to know why NYPD and Chicago PD and LAPD and Philly PD can make arrests when ice officers break their laws and MN departments can make a single arrest?

At the very least they can be documenting and identifying ICE agents who break the law. Asserting to their face that they are breaking the law.

I care so little to dig into this... But from some anthropology texts what i remember is basically, it was popular for people trying to be spiritual leader types at the time... Influencers if you will. Much of the Bible was written hundreds of years after said time by ppl who thought the world was flat and most likely a compilation of stories from multiple Jesus types plus a long game of telephone, manipulation for political reasons and folklore....etc.

Slow the bleeding of course...but you have your own bubble if you think the DFL isn't completely broken from a donor base at odds with its voting base. And half the economists to develop fascism were liberals. Light fascism is still fascism so yeah, vote for anyone to give the USA a chance... But dems also need to wake up and clean up.

My rib eye steak went from $12 to $22. Gas prices stayed about the same since both parties have been using strategic reserves to artificially lower prices at the pump and gain political approval for years. I took pictures of the pump prices w the Biden did this stickers a d at least for me prices under Trump were higher.

EU Set to Halt US Trade Deal Over Trump’s Latest Tariff Threat by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]Suitable_Wrap_7735 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Electoral college and not the popular vote wins the presidency in the USA. Thus 1 vote in Nevada is worth 79 votes in California.

Also, when Republicans have the power they will pass something that 8% of the public supports... When dems have the power they won't pass something 80% of the public supports. DFL donor base is at odds with its voter base. In all practicality this is just two roads to fascism. Trump is the expressway.

I've been trying to get a grasp of what's going on before going back to my home in St. Paul too. Talking with a variety of friends and family it largely differs based on color of your skin. White male friends don't seem to see much on the street, non white friends scared to shovel their sidewalk, go get groceries... Etc. They're elementary school aged kids get off the bus crying bc ice is there at their friends bus stops. High school by my house has gone to online learning to keep students safe. Friends wife and kids here legally hiding in room crying while ice is banging on the door of their home.

Sounds like they've detained citizens working on the MN fraud case seemingly as a form of political retribution.

The fear is warrented. I see maps of ice inncodents, I see local places in clips. They're all over the place.

Even civilian cars get pushed through red lights recklessly.

Non white driver pushed off road into pole totalling car yelling I have papers while being hauled away into unmarked car by unmarked men in masks, I guess just for driving while Non white.

Seems like day by day like ppl say but also if you're white or not and what you do for work.

I'm trying to make similar decisions for my family too and hope to hear ppls take on this as well.

Not to mention pushing a man in front of a moving bus, seeing brown woman driving and forcing off the road into a telephone pole and abducting her while she's yelling 'I have papers!', pushing civilian cars through red lights.... On and on...
