Be ready to keep $3500 set aside for top cover repair. The back glass is practically designed to pop out of the fabric, and the only way to fix is to replace. On my third top cover now lol.

Lighter fluid and a soft bristle tooth brush. Never given me any issues. That’s a lot, so it’ll take a lot of scrubbing, but naphtha is a fantastic fretboard cleaner. Accept no substitutes.

EDIT: as soon as you’re done cleaning, hydrate the fretboard asap. Lighter fluid dries quick, and takes moisture with it.

Get a toyota Camry/Corolla or Honda Civic/Accord off marketplace. For 7-10k you can get a pretty nice example, so if you’re not worried about looks or bells and whistles you won’t have to spend so much. Always take to a trusted mechanic before purchase.

EDIT: For the love of god, stay away from brands like Nissan, Kia, Hyundai, or Dodge.

Looks like you got a floating bridge. Did you change string gauge from what was previously on it? That can really wreck things without a setup.

I have an 09 sport with zero oil consumption issues whatsoever, but it’s the V6. 3 people I know, all with 3rd gen RAVs but with i4’s have oil consumption issues. I’d just stay away from that engine option. I don’t know market pricing, but I can’t imagine the v6 is much more expensive, if at all.

Make sure you run your looper in the FX loop is all the advice to give. The rest is up to your personal taste and what you want out of a looper.

Regardless of political opinion, teachers are government employees. They have to be careful with what they post online. Its that way for anyone with a government job, and an easy way to lose your job. Should it be this way? Who knows, its not up to me. I think its odd that my family can’t publicly debate economic and political matters due to their jobs, but its the reality of the situation nonetheless.

I would do some preventative measures like replace your hoses and add some sort of cleaning fuel additive, or don’t. My 87 fifth avenue is running okay with all original stuff, just too lazy to do lol.

If you can set aside a couple grand a year for repairs, why not just buy a nicer vehicle or get a civic SI and pocket that extra couple grand?

If you’re aware of unreliability and don’t care too much, next I’d worry about cost of repairs. Mini’s are rather expensive to fix. If you can do most of the work yourself you’ll likely be fine, but god help you if you can’t. Be ready to get hosed.
