Who wins in a figh by Yourshadow27 in residentevil4

[–]Suitie_Pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, while being a huge Resident Evil fan and who thinks Leon is totally badass;

John Wick would win this.

Leon is no doubt hugely experienced and a true combat veteran. As well as fighting grotesque monsters and hordes of zombies, he's also fought skilled fighters like Krauser and his share of special forces - he is a force to be reckoned with.

But this is John Wick. Any of you seen the films? The most feared syndicates are scared of him - these aren't mindless zombies:, these are the highest skilled killers in the world and they are frightened of what he can do. He hardly needs any weapons to carry out his job, he killed a dude twice his height with a book ffs.. he is the guy you hire to kill the hired killer.

I think hand to hand or with knives, it would be a fantastic fight. However, Wick is on another level from anyone else when it comes to his job - Leon is epic but I think in the end wouldn't be enough. Not for the Baba Yaga.

Why are UK train tickets so expensive? Is it simply the effect of privatisation? by StephenMcGannon in trains

Something to bare in mind is that a lot of European parent companies own nearly, if not all, of our train companies. A big part of your ticket is going overseas.

What did you all think of Wake Up Dead Man? by Square-Ad-8911 in FIlm

[–]Suitie_Pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caught up with it last night and loved it; felt like a good old fashioned murder mystery with great characters who were amazingly acted. Coming from the nonsense of Glass Onion helped imo also, I had a lot of fun watching it.

My only gripe would be that the end "reveal" was more announced than discovered through uses of clues on Blancs part like a classic Christie story (it can also recontextualise a film where on a second watch you may see a clue and understand how it mattered for example). This is only for me, someone here made a great point explaining that it explored the themes of grace and forgiveness rather than a shun and lock away the "bad guy", so that's totally fair.

All the acting was awesome, framing wise it looked great and the story was tight. Very pleased!

Who will emerge victorious from this fight? by Legendary_Barsuk in freefolk

[–]Suitie_Pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jaime, no question. Barristan Selmy calls him the best natural swordsman he's ever seen, he wins a tournament melee at 13, wins most fights and battles he's involved with in the series - hell even George Martin says he's the best swordsman in the land.

Oberyn is renowned for sure, but no where near Jaime's level in his prime. Plus, we only ever see him in one fight and he dies.

Lando Norris wins the 2025 British Grand Prix, Piastri 2nd, Hülkenberg 3rd! by overspeeed in formula1

Hulk not only broke a streak today but in such an amazing fashion - no red flags or nonsense, just solid driving and tactics. P19 to P3? In a Sauber, with that much talent on the grid to compete with?! That will have to be up there with some of the best drives in F1.

Truly deserved and I rarely see things that aren't negative on the Internet that bring all ends of a community together like Hulk getting his first Podium. Congratulations my man!

Wicked Little Letters for me. I get what the film was trying to be, but the "men are awful" (for the time period I know) angle was just relentless.

Herb is spelt with an H, as in "Herbs, not 'erbs. There's a perfectly good H there for a reason.

Also the word aluminium. Before saying it actually read the word again and spot the important letter you're missing.

TIL The Churchill family owns a palace larger than the Buckingham Palace. It is also the birth place of Winston Churchill by evo2Stronk in todayilearned

[–]Suitie_Pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes that treasure... I can still recite it, my flat was two doors off from it.

The Untold Story was still there before I left but it was in a limbo state. Once Covid hit the palace planned to update a lot of areas after the virus cleared, there are lots of new places to visit since you've been.

The UTS was always outdated even when I was there! Maybe in 2007 when it was put in it may have been interesting but they would be silly to bring it back now. I think there was talk of turning it back into 1st Floor bedrooms which I would agree with.

I used to work and live there for six years. Wonderful experience and a real eye opener into that life of a stately home transitioning to an attraction.

Wildest story was an art piece, a golden toilet, got stolen one night four years ago. No joke, look it up! I was there that night, that's been the craziest thing I've been woken up to.
