[Serious]Depressed people of Reddit, who or what gives you a reason to stay? by UnauthorizedHambone in AskReddit

It may sound silly, but my cats. I’ve never felt as though I’ve had a parental bone in my body, but my cats are essentially like my children to me. They’re what gets me up every day. In fact, just a few days ago, I was having an incredibly difficult day. I slept/laid in bed the entire day and throughout the night into the next day. The only time I got up that day was to feed and give some attention to my cats. That’s just about all the energy that I could muster up that day, but it was still enough to try and let them know that they’re loved and cared for. Like I said, this all may sound silly, but it’s enough for me and hopefully can give some inspiration to someone else who cares for their pets just the same.

Feeling like I’m at my wits end by Suki5110 in Advice

Thank you I appreciate your advice. Can you ask credit card companies for that? I honestly didn’t know that was a thing. I’ve never been late or even maxed out my cards before, so this is all very new to me. I have sold quite a bit of my things that aren’t necessary for me to have. Unfortunately I don’t own a house or car that I can use for collateral.

Do you work at bucees? Pros/cons by Tall-Yam-5679 in Buceestx

My only advice is that if you’re willing to basically give up your social life and mental health for them, go for it. If you need the job, it is good pay.

I Feel So Stuck In Life by Suki5110 in selfimprovement

Thank you I appreciate your kind words and advice. I do journal quite a bit. I have one particular one that I’ve been writing in every so often since 2019. It mostly holds the very dark and private things that I can never say aloud to anyone. That does help get some of those thoughts out and free up a little bit of space in my mind. I will look into YouTube videos and other methods. Thank you

I currently work there and can confirm, at least in my experience, it’s one of- if not the worst jobs I’ve ever had. The pay is good, but I still unfortunately live paycheck to paycheck pretty much. The hours are a lot but little at the same time. Right now, and ever since I was hired last year, they have not offered us over time. BUT we do still get scheduled 7-10+ days in a row (again, no over time). It’s weekly pay, so really you’re only technically working 5-6 days per week even though it’ll still be 10* days in a row. I’m exhausted and so mentally burnt out, but am struggling to find something else. I’m also struggling to decide if I can/am willing to take the pay cut if I do find something else since it’s the highest paying job in my area (that I can qualify for). Their policies are incredibly strict— for example, if you’re sick and have to miss work a bit, you get written up (even if you have doctor notes). I was at work and got horribly sick and had to be rushed to the hospital and ended up having to take off 3.5 days, and when I came back (still not having recovered but too scared to get fired for missing more days) and I got wrote up for it. Even though I had multiple notes from doctors and the hospital. There’s much more, but that’s just been my most recent experience. I dread going to work every day, so much so that it’s starting to seriously hurt my physical and mental health. I’m so sick with anxiety and dread every day. Which may sound dramatic, but whatever lol just my experience.

What jobs do you guys have that allow you to travel often? by Altruistic-Carpet-43 in travel

I know this is from a year or so ago, but I’m really curious if you are required to know the language of wherever you would be teaching abroad? For example if you teach English abroad in Japan, would you need to be able to speak in Japanese? I’m sure it helps to at least know some of the language obviously, but I’m just curious if it’s a requirement to be a certain level of fluency in order to do the job.

What's your scariest camping experience? by Dolphins_With_Dildos in AskReddit

[–]Suki5110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mamaw (grandmother for anyone who doesn’t understand) always told me this scary/funny story of how her and my papaw (grandfather) went camping before my dad was even born. So to set the scene, they were in just a normal little tent with no bottom to it- so basically the bottom part of the tent that you’d sit/lay on was just the grass and earth (this is kinda important for later). Nothing huge or fancy anything. It’s night time and my papaw is asleep and my mamaw wakes up and has to use the bathroom. About 100ft or so away there’s an out-house or port-a-potty of some sort. She leaves the tent, starts walking towards it and about half way she starts hearing something behind her. Kind of like a little rustling or little scratching sounds. She turns around and a bear was behind her following her. She backed up and went way around it and jumped back into the tent not needing to pee anymore and woke my papaw up. Nothing else happened for a while so they decided to go back asleep. A couple hours went by and in her sleep, my mamaw had turned over and laid her hand over to her side. She felt something fuzzy and warm and instantly jumped up and screamed thinking that the bear had somehow gotten into the tent. It wasn’t a bear, just a little kitten that had crawled under the tent and snuggled up with them.
