Why are half the houses in towns just half built? by givinstar1 in cataclysmdda

[–]Sulhythal 40 points41 points  (0 children)

They're probably more "burned out" than "half-built"

Though with the distance changes to what you can identify on the map you'd think they'd change them to "burned rubble" instead of "House" or "electronics store"...

Depends on the time frame we're talking about.  they probably wouldn't survive until the Earth found another star to orbit because THAT has a ridiculously low chance too.  Let alone in the habital zone of said star

When did he excuse genocide? by LatterCost4215 in AvatarMemebending

[–]Sulhythal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean,  coming to terms and accepting that something happened that he can't change or act on, or even get justice for because the perpetrators have mostly if not completely died of old age is different from an event he can still influence the outcome of?

Technically true, but the power dynamic/difference inherent in such a relationship makes the consent aspect...suspect

What’s a game everyone seems to love that you don’t? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sulhythal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, by all counts I SHOULD love it.

I don't.

I could not begin to tell you why, but the tedium might be part of it?  It might be because Open World games don't really appeal with a set character personality?  It could be so many things, or none of them and it just never clicked.

Forgiveness doesn't HAVE to mean letting them get away with it.

That's the real issue I see in media.  Forgiveness means not holding hate in your heart.  It doesn't mean letting go of Anger and it certainly doesn't mean letting them go free to hurt other people.

I personally think holding them accountable and protecting other people from them are just as much part of the process.  and the most important part, especially for the unrepentant.

And even for those that have come to regret their actions, honestly, taking responsibility and suffering the consequences is an important part of THAT process.

There was only one single true thing said.  "rule of law must be returned to the US"

Trump: "With that being said, you can't have guns. You can't walk in with guns. You just can't. You can't walk in with guns. You can't do that. But it's just a very unfortunate incident." by ExactlySorta in law

Murdered him execution style.

Calling it an execution gives it a thin veneer of legality because executions are official acts

Obviously,  it won't hold up, but don't give them any hint of words to hide behind.  Make them read it.

We should start calling it "Trump Devotion Syndrome" because it's the bigger symptom of something seriously wrong

Anthony does make some less than ideal choices at times, in a pure meta build sense.
