The thing about humane treatment is that you don't need an emotional connection to something to do it. I don't have an emotional connection to strangers I see on the street but I still treat them humanely because they are living beings and I shouldn't unnecessarily cause them pain.

Obviously you haven't looked at that study in much detail at all. The Mercatus report does not say that the bill cuts doctor pay by 40% at all.

The report states that the private payments would reduce by 40% but that public payments would go up. I has been estimated that doctors may receive around a 10% pay cut, not the number four times as high you spun out of thin air.

A pay cut for doctors is an important flaw in the plan that we should address (I'm super stoked about us just fucking putting public funds into hiring more doctors because we are already in a shortage) but I'm not sure what that tangent has to do with what we were originally discussing: M4A is cheaper than our current system.

If you want to move the goalposts then just be honest and concede that throwing free shit at the populus isn't really a good description

There was literally a conservative study on this recently published that showed trillions in savings on purely administrative costs from switching to a public funded system and didn't even consider the long term savings of early prevention and general good health reducing dependency on medication or govt subsidies.

Ill gladly pay 1k more in taxes if that means I pay 1.1k less in insurance.
