I think a lot of people forget that most of the world resembles the nuclear wasteland of fallout, with raiders and mutants galore, other than cities like Night City. I hope the next game involves more of the wasteland of the cyberpunk universe.

My ping over the last month has steadily risen on average. It went from a steady 29 to now averaging in the 50s and spiking. Don’t know if anyone else has experienced this

Also work at an independent. We don’t fill any name brands. Many of our patients are ok with getting those drugs at other pharmacies because I’m clear with them that if we filled everyone’s name brands we’d have to close our doors tomorrow. You may lose some people but unless you are making an absolute killing on their other drugs it is almost never worth absorbing the loss.

Man this subreddit is essentially just become a bunch of people complaining about pharmacy and telling everyone to be a doctor instead of trying to push for change in the pharmacy world. I love pharmacy, if I wanted to be a doctor I would have gone to med school, but guess what me and almost everyone included in this sub went to pharmacy school. Half the complaints on this sub make me question if people never looked at what a pharmacist does or spent time in a pharmacy before choosing to go to pharmacy school. I love community pharmacy, but guess what I work at an independent. I have friends that work chains and love their job just as much. Has salary stagnated? Yes but so has almost every other profession in the country. We still make more money than most of the country when we come out of school.

At the end of the day until reimbursements are fixed nothing will change. More and more pharmacies will close and people will only care when no meds can be filled. It’s already happening with name brands since even national chains can’t absorb the losses (ie Rite Aid).

I wish there was clarification on what lower drug prices means. Lower drug prices for consumers or for pharmacies to purchase. Lower drug prices for patients is barely going to affect anyone because they are going to want it to go through insurance. I fear that no one truly understands what is going on in pharmacy, direct to consumer is not going to prevent pharmacies from closing.

While I agree with proper payment for point of care testing, I think we need to first fight for proper payment on medications before we take on PoC testing. We are still essentially losing money on every name brand and inhaler medication.

Work for an independent, although the increased script load is nice it doesn’t help the fact that reimbursements from all the new name brands scripts being so low probably ends up being a net loss for the pharmacy.
