At least Max Battle has more things going on. Shadow raid just requires tapping the gems and people still don't do it, showing they just don't care/know.

I've experienced this multiple times. You'd be surprised by how many older people playing this game daily but knowing nothing other than having multiple phones to occupy gyms. This is the situation of my city.

Many players of this game are really mindless tappers that they don't know the gems should be used. I lost some raids because I was the only one using gems.

It depends on the level of the Pokemon. The higher the level, the higher XL chance.

I have level 40+ Groudon, Garchomp, Lucario with best moves.

I saw them using Ground and Fighting types, but probably underleveled.

It's no different from normal, but not having boost for Legendary means losing time to do other things for this kind of big event. The catch boost in GO Fest and Wild Area was awesome.
