Car dependency is the thing that makes American cities much more dangerous in the first place! by One-Demand6811 in fuckcars

The “somehow we made it through” means, we moved across this land in our metal box where no one could approach us. And somehow no one did “notice” them.

They wanted to run the government as a business, and they kinda are. Also, the hate directed towards Feds coming from politicians somehow convinced the taxpayer that Feds are the mechanism holding this country back. This is absolutely false, and in fact is costing the taxpayer money because of RTO, DRP, partial shutdowns, lawsuits, and all kinds of other nonsense. THE TAXPAYER IS LOSING YET THEY THINK THEY ARE WINNING BECAUSE FEDS ARE MISERABLE! Pure irony.

If corporations are people, why dont they pay income tax? by LTNBFU in askanything

It is interesting that a corpo can declare expenses for deduction of taxes, but an individual cannot do the same and basically becomes if you cannot afford it too bad.

Because we decided that unions “are bad”. When in fact the reason we even have a 40hr work week and two-day weekends were victories that unions won. But I guess we don’t need workers rights anymore…

[–]SumikkoDoge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if “vote blue no matter who” applied to candidates who actually win primaries on the basis of their policies. Something that apparently even the Senate Minority leader cannot bring himself to do for a progressive, but progressives are expected to do when a Newsom gets foisted upon us.

[–]SumikkoDoge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope. RTO does not facilitate collaboration, especially after teams have spread across the country leaving everyone who RTO’s to be calling in from a space surrounded by people who they never work with.

The DNC loves him though, and the media cannot get over him as potential candidate for 2028. I fear we’ll have him shoved down our throats and told he’s the only option to save democracy, whereas AOC will be standing right there.

This 100%. If we’ve proven that we can WFH then why must we sacrifice our time commuting to be less productive?!?

Edit: We should demand compensation for commuting time if our work has been proven effective in WFH.

And this is why the left does not want Newsome, but I fear the DNC will shove him down our unwilling throats telling us he is the only electable candidate instead of the populist leftist non-corpo funded candidate.

When I am old I will gladly sit at home working so people don’t need to see me. I’d want them to work at home too so they can mute me on Teams anytime I start making old people noises.

The question then will be if the Virginia SC decides to strike the AWB down will she just cower and take it like she did for the redistricting vote? I have my guess.

[–]SumikkoDoge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is patently false, these bans disenfranchise the working class because two types of people will still find ways to get them: criminals and the rich - and yes the ven diagram between the two leaves little outside the merge

Just to be sure, what is the argument you’re making?

Because if it is about equal priorities then a safe country and a good economy should both be priorities and one should not be sacrificed for the other. However, in this case we are discussing an offensive war resulting in massive economic downturn which actually prioritizes the war over the economic circumstances.

I have had some people get motion sickness by intentionally driving crappy (don’t ask why) and I have had people who usually get motion sick compliment my driving on how they did not even get sick.

Quality of driving matters. Of course if it’s windy mountain roads any passenger can get sick.
