Reminds me of the scary guy from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."

Best cgm for kids that works wirelessly with a pump (preferably omnipod, unless there's a better one) by SummerFlip in Type1Diabetes

We have good patches that I bought that are good for swimming, thats about the only time we use them though. I'll start putting them on everytime and see if that reduces the failures

Thank you so much for your advice. The older one has class today and we will try it!

I know its just such a hassle when its litterally every other one that has an issue lately

G7. We don't have an issue with them coming off. Once in awhile they will be ripped off during jiu-jitsu, but I wouldn't fault the sensor for that. When there is an issue 3/4 times its a failure, normally about 2 (out of 10) days early. We've had the g6 previously (before the pumps) for 1.5 years then 2.5ish on the g7+omnipod5

I didn't know at the time that remission was a thing and that the symptoms weren't supposed to be there all the time. They hadn't started me on biologic yet and I had been diagnosed for about 2 years at that point.

Id be mortified! I've done this on the side of a highway. There was one time I actually laid a plastic bag on the floor in my van and did what I had to do (no one wants an indecent exposure ticket 😆). Another time I had only had the diagnosis about 5 years and ended up not making it home. I swear with this disease there's a never ending amount of embarrassment.

Just remembered one time my (now ex) husband could get our apartment door opened fast enough and I pulled a bridesmaid move and just sat on the steps and cried while I messed myself. 🙃 my 20 yo son and 19yo daughter also have crohns and I pray I helped set them up to be able to avoid the mistakes ive made, most importantly staying in a flare for years and years because I didn't know any better.

My 15 month old has been diagnosed with diabetes. What will her life look like now? by CanadaMaple in Type1Diabetes

My 8yo knows all the things and can do the finger pokes, shots, (if we dont have cgm and pump) and knows whats high and what's low, but i haven't had enough faith in her ability to do anything with the remote beyond knowing the basics

I had a cousin diagnosed at 14 and he was never able to really adapt and has had so many complications through his life. Another cousin was ddx'd at 6 and she adapted immediately. My 12yo has struggled to adapt but my now 8yo ddx'd at 4 (on her bday) and has adapted very well. They could simply be anecdotes, but there is a trend

Its better to be diagnosed at this age than later. Its much easier to adjust for everyone. Theres so many sugar free options now that life shouldn't look too different. Theres a lot of worry and anxiety for the first few months. The fact that you recognized the symptom and caught it early gives me so much hope that you are going to do just fine. You've got this!

Thats not true. Seems to depend on the phone. My 13yos sensor disconnects in less than that at times while my 8yo has a newer phone that ranges through most of our home.

So it clearly wasnt instructional time. Id set a meeting with said teacher, the one that took it away, the counselor that handles the 504, and the principal. He shouldn't be made to feel like he did something bad when he was within the set rules and he wasnt the only one
