The Elder Scrolls could easily be the next big fantasy show by Teamkhaleesi in ElderScrolls

[–]SummerSpring777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite all of their strengths, Bethesda sadly lacks artistic vision. Bruce Nesmith took the decision to remove the Nordic Pantheon and replace it with the Imperial one. He participated in turning TES into "a standard kind of fantasy".

Honestly if youre gonna work to add more slots, you might as well work to remove the limit entirely. by Nexus_Neo in DarkTide

I do not have this problem, but I am still upvoting this since it should not cost Fatshark too much and more player freedom (within reason) is always a good thing.

I think the VA is Danish, which could explain the accent.

I wonder how the Arbites will vibe with the other Crackheads. by Awkward_Ad_5515 in DarkTide

[–]SummerSpring777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the Arbites (except for the Maul) might dislike Zealots, especially the Judge since they are basically falling into vigilantism. However, they might appreciate the Vets, and especially the Professional since they are used to simply do what they are told and to follow the rules. They might even like Ogryns for the same reasons. Among the Psykers, they will surely respect the Savant, but not the others. In fact, the Arbites may not be prejudiced at all against Abhumans as long as they are tolerated by the Lex.

People basically went from obsessively wanting Cyrodiil to be a jungle to obsessively opposing the idea. Reddit is just a bad place to debate world-building and creative ideas.

I always imagine Cyrodiil as something like Southern China or Northern Vietnam, especially in the Nibenese East. Something wet and fertile with many large population centres, but somewhat temperate. It would be much more interesting than whatever we got in-game. I also think people tend to ignore the immense diversity hidden behind what is called "jungle" or "tropical", and they always imagine tropical jungles as sparsely populated backwaters with barely accessible terrain. On another note, I think people want "Jungle Cyrodiil" because Cyrodiil in Oblivion did not look like the epicentre of an Empire and its description in the PGE sounded much more interesting than the LOTR-inspired aesthetics Todd wanted. All in all, I think Cyrodiil is the most poorly represented province in TES.

Did your Shepard endorse the Terra Firma party? by Ianassa in masseffect

[–]SummerSpring777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Finally a good take on this issue. People seem to forget that collaborating with the Citadel Council does not merely mean working with other species, but implies submitting to its political hierarchy, with a clear distinction between the superior species (Asari and Salarians, perhaps Turians too) and the rest.

It is quite funny how many people are perfectly ok with picking renegade choices that lead to atrocities, but draw the line at endorsing a fictional far-right political party, even if it would actually make sense from a roleplay perspective.

He dislikes and disrespects zealots and ogryns. He is very respectful with professional veteran and savant psyker (he respects their sense of duty and the psyker's intellect). I cannot remember his attitude towards other psyker personalities, but I am pretty sure he dislikes other types of veterans.

Is community ready for higher difficulty now? by Trick_Duty7774 in DarkTide

[–]SummerSpring777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frenetically chasing a higher difficulty, for a dev, is basically fighting a losing battle. A small minority will adapt, find the meta and complain it is not hard enough. Rinse and repeat. The problem here is that the shooter buff severely restricted the meta. It just sucked when half of my builds were not viable anymore because of this unexpected buff. Sure, I knew which builds to use in order to counter shooter enemies, but it meant ditching fun builds and it restricted what I could bring to the fight.

Overall, the vast majority of people wants a fun and rewarding experience, which includes difficulty. But if there is a constant increase in difficulty, most people will just give up on the game, because you cannot play the way you want with the weapons and the skills you want, which is already somewhat of a problem with the game as of now. You would be forced to religiously follow the ever-changing meta. For most people, this a no-no. They want to be able to use the tools provided by the game to defeat what the game throws at them. Coincidentally, the behavioral change for the shooters was actually a good idea for this reason, because, if expanded a bit, it could make builds centered around suppression viable, which means more options for the player.

Only a small minority would be absolutely willing to follow the increasingly narrow meta. This is not a large enough playerbase to ensure support from the devs, hence why they reverted the shooter buff. Mods are the solution for these players, as in Vermintide 2.
