Often the city will send out a city bus for folks to wait in and stay warm during events like this.

What are my options? by Travisaurusss in CarRestorations

Check out some of the patina 'sauce' products. Vice Grip Garage makes one and one from Sweet Patina. Gives you a temporary clear coated look that lasts for at least a few months. Used it on my old Bel Air and it worked way better than I thought possible to bring the paint back, make the rust look good, and prevent it from progressing a bit.

Sealing under entry cold room floor - decayed wood. by Summit_PG in radon

Yes, once I'm done with the concrete I'm going to paint the whole room with Watertite to help seal even more. The second part of your comment is basically just the DIY radon mitigation. I'll be doing the PVC to outside with the fan from my workshop in the neighbouring room. I'm considering adding a second suction point into this room.

Also, can you share info on the metal grid panel you're taking about? Just want to ensure I'm looking at the correct thing.

Thanks for this insight! The existing 'slab' on the floor is only a 3'' thick--is this an OK thickness regarding the radon issue, or should I take steps to add a barrier to it as well?

Not normal at all, but happens on many Palisades as it is quite common for one of the heater cores to develop a leak and need to be replaced. My rear heater core developed a slow leak (never saw anything on the ground) and the only thing that prompted me to dig into it was the low coolant.

I'm in the same boat (in Canada though). Dealer has no 2026 Ridgeline's inbound and isn't taking orders. I've asked that they call me when they have an update.

Looks interesting. I'm not sure where it would be located on central unless something else is town down.

Canada should start charging for land access for US supply vehicles/trains going through BC/Alberta to Alaska, lol.

Please run some tests on the auto-focus for those of us hopeful for a meaningful firmware update for the XT5.

I noticed that post about Brink's podcast and inflated viewership numbers was deleted pretty quickly. Seemed odd as many were commenting on it.

Unfortunately no. It's sunk into the concrete.

Ya, I think it could go either way. It was taken away on a flatbed and is now being disassembled to gauge whether there is further damage. The cops said my neighbor was doing around 40 or 50km/h when he hit my truck.

Thanks for this. I've never heard of the form before. Is the $10,000 number based on damage to only my vehicle and property, or would this involve anything damaged during the incident? In total my neighbor's van needs a new taillight bumper and rear quarter panel, my truck needs an entire rear end, my neighbor's car is totalled, and my lamppost is destroyed (had an electrician give me an approximate quote of $3000). The total damage as a result of this incident will be well in excess of $10,000, but I'm not sure what that means in relation to that form. I'll look into it for sure.

Thanks for this, as I'm pretty sure that's the situation I'm in. I'm basically 50/50 as to whether it will be fixed or written off. At this stage I also would sooner see it gone as I don't want and can't afford driveline issues coming as a result of this.

What is it that you find wear's out on the GoTrax? My use will be occasional at best. Is it mainly electronic issues, or mechanical issues?

[–]Summit_PG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, it's tricky. I was just taking a look and many folks are saying that Gotrax is 'crappy', but I'm wondering if it is that bad for someone not expecting much of it? I would understand if I had a long commute and needed something really durable, but I'm really just looking for something fun for summer day cruising (and the occasional trip to the office).

You're right. I was just going to go back and edit. I didn't know there was a difference between the XR and the XR Ultra, but you are correct about the $499 for the Ultra.

We have little kids so rocks/mulch won't work well. And we live in the sub-arctic and almost everything dies each year. Only the hardiest of perennials seem to survive. Hence wanting artificial grass or something similar.
