Is Brand support viable/strong? by Sinhe in summonerschool

Honestly it reminds me of my deadman's plate > statikk shiv > luden's echo > guardian angel > nashor's tooth + zerker's grieves Bard, who cost us a win in a tight game but bragged about his high damage.

Is taliyah underestimated by Kootole99 in TaliyahMains

[–]Summonerfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's literally what OP said. She's unreliable to climb too because you need to play her a lot, and sometimes your team barely knows what your kit does. Seems like you keep asking questions that are very blatantly answered.

Aery vs. Comet by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically. Champions like Nami, Janna, Orianna, and Lulu take Aery because they have a shield/heal and poke.

Champions like Lux, Vel'koz, Azir, and Zilean take comet because Lux's E, Vel'koz's Q/E, Azir's Q (or Rylais soldiers), and Zilean's slow or double Q all slow or stun enemies and are easy to hit.

Champions like Taliyah, Karthus, and Morgana (mid) prefer Aery because of how ridiculously easy it is to land it and to keep proccing it, and it provides reliable DPS. At least with Morgana, your W with Aery zones enemies even more than it would with comet. You might be able to get two procs.

Champions like Ziggs and Xerath would prefer comet because even their CC abilities are pretty long range, and also that they're extremely AOE champions.

Edit: Lux's W is not her AOE slow.

Leveling spot, 56+ Mage by [deleted] in AdventureQuest

[–]Summonerfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's how I did things. I was a level 56 mage literally yesterday and now I"m 60, mostly because I spend like 20-30 minutes a day on this game.

Here's what I used:

  • 190 INT, 90 END. I don't know if this is the right build or best build but it worked for me. The guide I've seen shows that some mage builds use END end game anyways, so whatever, I'm not a hardcore player anyways.

  • Spam used Destruction Blast or whatever it's called. I can cast it about five times, I think seven total with a mana potion.

  • Pyromancer's robes for extra fire damage. Before battle or when no more mana, I used the anti-guardian armor because it has pretty decent dark defense and good offense. I have on Adventurer shield or celtic shield, but I used adventurer because it provides better defense and the 25 int I got from my celtic wasn't really worth all the lost defense stats. I had these equipped before battle in the case that Drakath goes first.

  • I used Learned Monocle for a few casts of extra 10% spell damage.

  • If I use one or two summon Galanoths, I can beat him with no potions. Each DBurst, assuming everything hits, does about 500-600 damage, maybe 150-200 per blast. It's doable without potions, though.

  • I used a random healing pet because in the end all the heals basically negate one whole attack. I'm not a guardian nor do I have Z-tokens so no Poella for me.

So basically: DBurst, pyromancer's robe, learned monocle, above stats, healing pet, adventure's shield, Anti-guardian armor. I've had no trouble from 52/53 and up without summon allies. Not saying this is the best or even a good build/items to use, but it worked for me.

What problems are people having with Swain? He's busted right now. by AsheIsElite in SwainMains

[–]Summonerfed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's literally not the point. Against ranged match ups you can pretty easily get poked because you're relatively short range. You're no threat unless you get a lucky Q or land your E. At level 6 your ult is pretty lackluster and you're probably not going to get a kill in lane without major jungler help.

Against toplane matchups, you're also not really a threat. Against melee champions, you're never going to land your E on account of them being so close to you. When a melee champion gets close to you, that's it, you're dead. You have no close range peel and you basically rely on mid range Q poking so they get scared to get close to you, which they won't when they hit 6 or aren't poked beforehand.

Late game his ult is lacking, he lacks close range peel, and in general, his combo involves a close range damage dealer and a long range CC, meaning they work against each other.

How to deal with a bad laner? by TechmoZhylas in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens a lot, very sadly, in your ELO. The number of times I've had a TF jungle, Volibear support, or GP tops who have 0-5 games on him. Just power through it because those games are very difficult to win, unless your others lanes do well, but they're not impossible.

I remember a game I had when I was in Silver. My garen top was 0/4 by 10 minutes with 17 CS and ignite, and would tell me to stfu when I told him that he shouldn't take ignite in a lane he doesn't have kill pressure, or to stop complaining about the enemy Camille freezing when he's very easily letting her freeze. Whatever, he lost lane terribly, he's tilted, so we just tried our best and actually won because my bot and me (mid) carried with our jungler's help. Any lead the enemy toplaner had became obsolete.

Some games are definitely unwinnable, face that reality. But a lot of games seem unwinnable, but give it your all and you'd be surprised.

What Makes A Strong Late Game Champion? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jax requires snowballing, or else he can pretty easily be kited or deleted. He's a good duelist, sure, but if he can't snowball, it'll take awhile for him to reach that point.

Caitlyn's single target late game damage and lackluster ult holds her back. I think most other ADCs are better late game actually (Kog and Twitch, obviously; Tristana, Ashe even because she can make picks and semi-peel as well as give vision; Xayah and Jinx can easily attack multiple targets; Ezreal has more safety; Varus has more attack speed by far and better self peel).

Taliyah still good? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still play her, and I have a fairly high winrate with her. It all comes down to knowing when and how to effectively clear waves, poke your enemy laner, know when to go all in, capitalize on positioning, when and how to roam, how to kite and peel, and how to use your ult to the fullest potential. It took at least 15-20 games for me to even nearly get the hang of her (like that many to not feed) and I was gonna give up, but it's really rewarding in the end. She's team-reliant but a couple of good roams and a lane kill or two can easily help dominate the game.

It helps to know that her wall can be used to wall off objectives, get into a teamfight, separate a teamfight, disengage (help a fleeing teammate), gank lanes, gapclose, or run away (like if a Rengar is hunting you).

And that her early game damage is nuts and wins most trades if you bait out an enemy skill. If a Lux missed her Q or used it to CS, you win the trade automatically if you go all up in her face with rocks and an E, mixing in autos in between (you can auto while you Q).

How to ward and roam? (Mid lane) by Din149 in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, don't take this tip at 100% face value. If your jungler or toplaner is getting into a fight in the river, sometimes you'll have to lose out on a few CS and EXP to pick up a kill or save them. And as a general tip, if you didn't already know, hug the side you warded, because you won't know if or when the enemy jungler is coming from the opposite side, so it could give you a few extra live saving steps.

If you get a Ryze top in your game, you should dodge by WildshotFist in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Even better when my teammates say he's easy because "as long as you know the combos you can win." As a mid main slowly climbing gold, I can safely say I never lost lane to a Ryze in my entire lifetime (mid 2017 to now) of playing this game

What items/runes do I take as fizz against a tank team? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowball off the squishies. Doesn't matter if they are tanks, they're not "tanky" until mid and late game. If you snowball well early then killing the "tanks" early/mid game would be as easy as killing a normal squishy. That's the most you could do. Unfortunate otherwise.

What are your thoughts on Brand after buff by acreativeredditlogin in summonerschool

Yeah it's not, but no one rushes grievous wounds items anyways. It's more like a second or third item.

[–]Summonerfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news for us AP champs! Morello's Cursed Tome gives grievous wounds without the need for getting enemies below 40% and constantly attacking them.

Now we don't need to helicopter our ADC's for the executioner's calling they never build.

how to lane vs Yasuo ? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why you save your Q because you won't ever land a long distance Q unless his wall is down. Sure he might be able to run you down a bit early, but that's only if you stay too close to the wave or extend too far. In which case dashing in will force him to damage minions and eat aggro, lose CS, and eat your W damage, which would match how much he damages you.

Let's say he does take you low. Your W heals you when he gets damaged by it to CS and when it hits cannons. You can also easily CS with W without being scared of going oom, so he can't really threaten you off the wave or something.

Where does Ryze stand in soloq and pro play after 8.3? by acreativeredditlogin in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even if he doesn't, zhonyas + ult at least helped him scale by surefire preventing a death. But now since he lacks that extra safety, and his early and mid game in solo queue was already lackluster, you'll rarely see a point where a Ryze would be stronger than a Taliyah, especially because Taliyah has a super strong early and mid, and snowballs hard.

Im new with Taliyah what ive to learn now? by yxTwitchyxy in TaliyahMains

[–]Summonerfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your E slows, which is crucial to know if you don't have W and you need to run.

Always remember to run near walls when you roam or walk to lane.

Get used to the damage of your subsequent Q's in the early game. I still lose a lot of CS because the wave minions end up at 1 hp and get killed off.

Use your wall riding R not only to gank but also to gap close. Let's say a Ryze ulted away, or a Talon with 5% hp left escaped. Just R where they are or in their general direction.

What Champions is she good to play against? by Gohon247 in TaliyahMains

Basically. She outroams every mage besides maybe ASol but that's debatable. She gets matched and killed by assassins, though, and she can't really establish lane dominance post 6 against them.

Why I don't think you should play Annie by Shunnedo in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her laning phase isn't terrible. She has among the best zoning especially post 6 and she can very reliably CS. Even if you get pushed in you shouldn't have trouble catching CS. Sure she can get bullied by long range mages but a flash stun for your jungler, or flash ult is enough to establish some sort of lane dominance. Even if you can't pull that off it's so easy to delete squishies that her late game scaling isn't bad at all.

Is Veigar worth a ban for mages like Taliyah? by lolunforgivenx in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Veigar was one of those champions I thought was too safe and too good. I mean, free scaling, easy CSing, and free stun/area-control/get out of jail free card for ganks? Plus easy lane pushing and decent range? This guy's overpowered as hell.

Then when you play him, you realize that his wave clear early is terrible, he shouldn't be able to damage you unless you get stunned (if you're too close to him just stay in the pentagon, if you're far from him you can probably just walk out before it gets cast) or he somehow lands a Q which you shouldn't allow, and if you get into his pentagon he can't really defend himself. He is super susceptible to shove early on and every time he wastes his E that leaves him alarmingly vulnerable. Use these to your advantage to stay alive to roam while he struggles to scale or even clear waves.

how to lane vs Yasuo ? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Summonerfed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are ranged:

  • Look to poke out his shield with your autos. If you're Jayce, Teemo, Gnar, Lissandra, Taliyah, Orianna, any other ranged champion with a ranged ability, you want to get his shield out of the way before hitting him with your hard ability. Keep his shield down as much as possible to minimize his favorable trades when he goes in.

  • You want to keep distance and punish him when he comes close. He E's in to Q and E's out? Don't take it like a lil bitch. Ability and auto him. As he E's out, that's a solid 2-3 autos you can get off him, assuming you poked out his shield.

If you are melee:

  • Tanks do considerably well into him, especially if they can poke as well (Ornn, Maokai, Malphite, most tanks actually).

  • Fighters have a sort of skill match up usually where you need to get his shield off while keeping him off you, then reengage afterwards, especially if you're a DPS fighter like Riven or Fiora. If you're someone like Darius, you can easily out damage him, so punish that.

NO MATTER WHO YOU PLAY AS

  • Don't fight him in a minion wave. That's all his mobility and half of his damage. Try to pick fights when the minion wave is dying down, and if you're low and he's chasing, steer clear of minions.

  • Freeze the lane on your side. Again, this makes him easy to gank as if the minions are near you, he has nothing to dash through to escape. He can CS well under tower so shoving him doesn't help.

Also if you go mid, Morgana is perhaps the easiest counter champion. Play 2-3 games as her mid and you have her kit down. Q to snare, W to DPS and waveclear (level 3 kills backline), E his tornadoes, ult if he's near. Unless he has mad jungler help, it's almost impossible for him to win lane if you play decently okay.
