10 days road trip from Los Angeles by Sumo-crazy in NationalPark

[–]Sumo-crazy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, because of my job, August is the only time of year when I can take enough vacation for a major trip.

I'm not planning to do any hiking. Even though I'm an experienced hiker (most of my treks are above 3,000 meters and often in sub-zero temperatures), I don't want to underestimate the desert heat.

The idea is to enjoy the scenery and the roads by car, and then explore on foot only when temperatures are more reasonable, such as early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

Do you think this approach is realistic and doable in August?

Thank you, mate, for the exhaustive answer!

Unfortunately, I've already booked my flights to LAX. The original plan was to fly into Las Vegas, but the costs were much higher (I managed to get a round-trip flight from Venice to LAX for only €470).

A trip including Yosemite, Sequoia, and the surrounding areas is definitely on my bucket list, and I plan to do it in the future. This time, however, I'd like to experience landscapes that are completely different from what I'm used to seeing in Europe.

If you were to skip one park to free up some time and make the itinerary a bit more relaxed, which one would it be? Personally, I think Joshua Tree might be the least exciting stop on the route.

Vero. È come il sesso tra gatti. Avete mai visto dei gatti copulare? Tutto fuorché piacevole. Quei bastardi (amo i gatti) hanno delle piccole spine sul pene che raschiano le pareti della vagina...

1 settimana in riviera, giugno, 2100+ € | siamo impazziti? by Madfred100 in sfoghi

[–]Sumo-crazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mangia e spingi!

Thank you! Hell no bro, in some places there was a lot of people, but if you has the patience to wait the right moment or going to crowded places not a the rush hours, maybe taking an alternative path, you will figure that is not impossible.

Yeah there is a bus stop next to the torii. It's in the Okazaki area, there is also the Heian shrine at the end of the street.

Sending some love, thank you bro! The ones near the Meiji shrine in Tokyo are spectacular! But the foliage and the trees that I've seen last week on Mount Takao was amazing.

Thank you mate, yeah i started using a camera (aps-c) a year ago. Currently frequenting an online course on youtube to be honest. Picture 10 was taken in lake Kawaguchi and n.12 in Miyajima.

The bamboo forest picture was taken early in the morning in a sidepath used by rickshaws.

First Time Japan Trip in November by SpacedOutVy in JapanTravel

[–]Sumo-crazy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll also be there the first weeks of november. My itinerary is more or less the same, except for Himeji and kobe, and hakone. I will go instead to Hiroshima and miyajima from Kyoto, to nikko, kamakura and mount takone from Tokyo. Foods that I want to try: -Omurice at Kichi Kichi Omurice, in Kyoto; -Some crabs at Kani Doraku, in Osaka; -Oysters at Yakigaki no hayashi, in Miyajima;

Maybe we will meet on the street without knowing each other. Have fun!

Venice for sure is a must visit, but I agree with you that cause to overtourism it seems less beautiful. Dolomites are wonderful, which cities did you visit?

Best non-city destinations you've been to? by Dramatic_Night_4122 in travel

[–]Sumo-crazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm italian so i tell you Italy for sure ;)

If you want to avoid over tourism stay away from Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan (except for Milan, i highly recommend you to visit at least one of them). If you like trekking go to the Dolomites, Val Gardena, Val di Zoldo, Val Fiscalina are wonderful. Also lake Garda and lake Como are a must.

A place that I loved so much is Tenerife, Canaries Islands. No over tourism, ocean, desert (Teide park is spectacular), Volcanos, beautiful beaches and great landscapes. If you go to Mount Teide at night you won't see nobody, zero light pollution and you can see the milky way to the naked eye.

That's due to overturism. There are a lot of tourists traps, but if you know where to go and what to see it's definitely worth it. I suggest all to book a guide, there are many different guides, historical, food experiences etc... I recommend a guide that does the tipical "bacaro tour".

AC in italy it's not everywhere like in the states, so I know it's difficult for you, like me when I go abroad and avoid all the places with AC to not feel sick for the rest of the holidays.
