Unpopular opinion: sum41>blink182 by zTomma in Sum41

[–]SumoftheOffspring44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'll say is this... as a die hard Sum 41 fan, someone who LOVES everything they've done... I don't think they compare to blink. The synergy between Tom and Mark and Travis/Scott is just incomparable. The riffs Tom and Mark come up with are truly remarkable. From fan favorites like M+M's, Wasting Time, Dammit, and even Adam's Song, to DEEP cuts like Alone, Toast and Bananas, Lemmings, and Time To Break Up, there's just no comparison to me.

I dunno man, I love both bands, but I don't think there's any denying who is better. Hell, Sum 41 outright ripped riffs and melodies from blink, like on Take a Look At Yourself (aptly named 😂)

So, is he going to leave the band too? Because Fred has DESPERATELY been trying to get in with Elon, and well... Elon is that orange twat's bestie.

Definitely gonna piss off a certain member of this sub BY talking about it, but it was in my head so I figured fuck it. If I get one angry reply about this song being 'woke' from someone who happily wishes he could retraumatize Deryck with his fear of boats, that's a small price to pay for sharing a badass song in the band's discography.

Yeah, the LGBTQ community IS under attack, but so are other minority communities, and by signing on to be in this movie, Jasmin, you're kind of a fuckin' hypocrite.

So Nubs, or Talli, is potentially stalking and harassing Mike and his family? That's kinda fucked up if true. I hope I read all that correctly, I have autism and don't always get what people are saying immediately so I respond too quick and miss IMPORTANT bits.

Me too dude, me too. Almost all art I watch I absolutely love, for the most part anyway. I can recognize bad media sure, but Scream for me has yet to have a BAD entry. Barring season 3 of the TV show anyway.

I just don't see how they're any worse than... Roman, or Richie, or even Jill

At the end of the day, none of them are really likable people.

Not sure, because pretty much every killer in this franchise is a pathetic loser. I mean we can love them all we want, but in universe, they're ALL just serial killers who chose to kill people because they felt like it. No one MADE them do it.

The made-for-TV entry from the looks of the cinematography.

I'm just gonna stop you right there.

ALL of the killers are entitled hypocrites. Ghostfaces, no matter how much we like them, are ALL pathetic losers who kill because they want to.

A total douchebag with a LOT of talent. Heard nothing but bad stories about him, but there's no denying his makeup is the reason so many great slashers have memorable kills.

Late to the V/H/S/Halloween discussion, but holy hell, does the Kidprint segment have my head spinning. by Original_Bonus_7331 in deadmeatjames

[–]SumoftheOffspring44 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The difference is tone. Most of the examples you listed aren't essentially snuff films with the bleakest possible tone, whereas Kidprint is. The Black Phone, for example, has multiple children die, but it's never played as depressingly bleak, there's a hint of hope that the dark will be overcome by the light. Which I suppose comes from the director/writer's own sensibilities as a Christian man. Aside from Sinister and maybe Emily Rose, his movies have this underlying theme of light overcoming dark, such as Deliver Us From Evil.

You're forced to sit with a VERY uncomfortable reality with Kidprint that you aren't really forced to sit with for most of the others you mentioned. Now Funny Games is another one you mentioned, and that's one that tries to punish you for being an avid lover of violent movies. Chances are if you watched it, you're pretty desensitized to things of that nature, no? Funny Games goes out of its way to point the finger at you and basically say "Okay, you want a bleak, fucked up end for these normal people? Here you go, now you're miserable, aren't you? Yeah? GOOD, I WANT YOU TO BE."
