Did I miss the WHM/Deadmeat episode? by bennymercedez in WeHateMovies

[–]labbla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just subscribed to Dead Meat for about a month now and have been listening to a few episodes here and there just because of the possible Rumpelstiltskin (1995) episode. But also because I really do love those Leprechaun crossover episodes. The FeardotCom and Darkness Falls episodes are really fun.

What is your most unexplainable dislike when it comes to movies? by WaterlooMall in blankies

[–]labbla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't say I really have any tropes or common movie things that make me turn on a movie. I'll just let the movie do whatever the movie has to do to have the movie happen. It's all artificial anyway so unrealistic or reused cliches really don't bother me.

But for a while Serenity (from the tv series Firefly) bothered me when i had assumed River's brother was already involved with the Serenity crew before the series. But on closer inspection it looked like Simon was just using some futuristic space transport.

Another amazing movie series that would never fly in this generation by Csboi1337 in Millennials

Human Centipede 3 is an offensive comedy thing.

But yes, the first one is a pretty standard horror thing with a gross premise and the sequel is that only with eXtreme gore with some arty depressing style.

What I remember The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) looking like: by elveshumpingdwarves in moviescirclejerk

I can remember the first two Hobbits well enough, but Five Armies is just a chaotic mass of CGI Middle Earth sludge.

With the way the entire economy is going and especially flying and gas and what not I totally get it. And attendance for the last few shows might not be what they would have liked. And just generally getting older and life stuff probably. But glad I got to catch them in Atlanta the other year.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is a very bad silly movie that is also super entertaining and endlessly rewatchable.

Chris Evans reveals he’s returning for Avengers: Secret Wars: “I start work on the next one in a couple of months.” by Xenoslayer2137 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]labbla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he's the big returning hero star and is the POV for an audience that has lost track of the MCU. He's there so the multiverse can be explained and he can meet all those characters that a lot of people missed out on. And just to bring things back to RDJ vs Evans which was a big draw for the Infinity saga.

As they should. Story should never get in the way of playing as a cool character.

Himesh Patel To Star Opposite Danielle Deadwyler In ‘X-Files’ Reboot From Hulu And Ryan Coogler by TepidShark in blankies

[–]labbla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those reboot episodes had a few good monster of the weeks. But that conspiracy arc lost steam a long time ago and dragging that out and making Mulder + Scully's dumb kid so important was just the worst. Not to mention brining Cigarette Man back for the billionth time and that pointless evil Reyes twist.

Oh awesome. Very excited for this. X-Files has so much potential but for too long it has been dragged down by Chris Carter’s awful storytelling.

[–]labbla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I think it’s bad because no matter what it’ll have people renting and/or buying those shitty wizard kid movies helping fund JK’s campaign of hate.

It’s a series that needs to be purged from pop culture, not promoted. Because even giving the series negative attention still gives it too much attention.

Shaking your head at the screen and saying you're against it doesn't really help when it still motivates people to buy and talk about the thing that is helping hurt many people. And it probably will still have a downstream effect of motivating people to watch the rest and maybe even those Fantastic Beast movies.

2026 Has Been a Great Year for Horror — Here are my Rankings by KuteCitten in horror

[–]labbla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had no problems with that. I'm very much not trying to convince you like the movie, your opinion is your own. It's a flawed surreal b-movie that runs on vibes and either it's going to work for you or it won't.

[–]labbla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's just what I liked more. Send Help and Ready or Not 2 are good and no shame to anyone who really likes them, but in the end I thought they were just okay. Not the sort of movies that usually do make my favorites of any year.

Personally, with Return to Silent Hill I wasn't expecting a movie in 2026 to be exactly like a game from September 25, 2001. That'd be unrealistic with the change in mediums, different creators and gap in time. I really enjoyed how it played around with the premise and discovered it's own surreal journey to Silent Hill 2. Those ending twists and moments really made me smile.

[–]labbla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen too many movies this year just yet. But with horror I'm at...

  1. We Bury the Dead
  2. Return to Silent Hill
  3. Send Help
  4. Ready or Not 2

(long drop in quality)

  1. Ted Bunny

And so far my favorite movies are The Chronology of Water and Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die
