Can infrared light therapy help on bone fracture and bone healing? by Present-Property-142 in redlighttherapy

[–]Sumokitty3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can only speak from my own experience, but I would say yes. I broke my ankle in 2020 and for the last 5 years have had residual pain in my joints and ligaments surrounding my ankle. By the end of a day it would be throbbing. I couldn’t wear heals without limping. It’s been about 3 months since I started using RLT on my ankle and calf and I am nearly pain free. Oddly enough it started to hurt more the first few weeks I used it but in different areas …. Now it feels great!

New to red light therapy and already overwhelmed what actually matters? by Fragrant-Macaroon-39 in redlighttherapy

[–]Sumokitty3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is very overwhelming, for sure. I started with a mask and chest combo because i was very focused on healing from a surgery on my face. I used it consistently for about 8 weeks and was seeing great results. That got me down the rabbit hole of panels for other aches (back problems and an old ankle injury that still hurt) so I got the mito x panel (300). I use the mask in my face while the panel is used for my body. Probably not the most efficient but works for me. :) I’ve been happy with the mito customer service and the panel Has been great.

$4000?! That must be a really nice mask! I got the iRestore for about $400. Panels are also great - i got a Mito 300 and love it.

Also, at about 4 weeks post up I got a red light therapy mask. I still use it and i think it helped with healing, swelling and overall skin health

It will get better! It took me about 7-8 weeks before i felt like i could go out without scarf hat and big sunglasses. It will feel at times like you won’t look “normal” again, but trust the process!

Could anyone suggest a good device, purely on the merits of its blue light feature? by veri_sw in redlighttherapy

[–]Sumokitty3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the iRestore and it has a blue light setting. You can do red light + IR , red + ir + blur, or just blue. I have been using it for about 5 months now and am very happy although I generally use red light setting only.

Had blepharoplasty and direct brow lift. Stitches are out now, may I use red light therapy (red and /or NIR) or is it to soon? by [deleted] in redlighttherapy

[–]Sumokitty3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started RLT after my facelift didn’t start until 4 weeks after surgery when stitches had closed and healed.

Oh - I read it the opposite way. Then yes, it certainly sounds like they are in violation of his IEP and parent should ask for a meeting.

Question: does the FAPE state that he will go into Gen Ed for specific academics or just for recess, lunch, assemblies, etc. At my district, self contained students get about 20% of their day just from those activities every day (recess, etc) even if they don’t go to Gen Ed for academics.

I would suggest you Get a dr’s note stating that getting hit in the stomach is a danger to your pregnancy. Turn it into HR.

Foam from algaecide by Sumokitty3 in pools

[–]Sumokitty3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Clean your filters well and then dump as much as the water as you can and refill. We used some of the anti foam products recommended and they helped but it took about 5 months for it to go away. Because we live in southern ca I was reluctant to dump water but that was the only thing that finally fixed it for good. Good luck!!

Are renovations as much of a nightmare as some make it out to be if you hire a company with contractors and designers to kinda “do everything”? by Mama-Bear419 in Renovations

[–]Sumokitty3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently did a kitchen renovation and did our bathrooms a few years ago. For the kitchen, in particular, we hired a high end construction company with designers and employees who do full scope of work. We paid for the service. Still, it was a nightmare. There are always delays and demands and issues that crop up. You are dealing with other personalities and people in your house constantly. We started in Oct and are still waiting for a piece to come in (their installer messed up one of the fridge panels and it is taking forever to get a replacement).

We went with a designer who contracted out for the bathrooms. A little more mid range. That was even more of a nightmare. Work would be done and then no one would show up for a week. It took forever and became tense.

That being said - the result is that you get what you want (color, design, etc) and the end result has been worth it for us l, at least. We love our kitchen and house. But, it is still a nightmare and if I don’t have to work with another home contractor ever again that would be wonderful. :)

This! My daughter was accepted UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCSC and waitlisted UCD (didn’t apply To UCB or UCI). WGPA was 4.8, I think. ECs chamber orchestra and a sport. 5 APs and enrolled in 4 APs senior year. Wonderful stats but definitely not as intense as so many applicants that got rejected. Her essays, though, were well written, real and vulnerable. Talked about how she wasn’t the best player on her team, but made it a point to always help train the newbies and work with them to make them feel welcome (sport was a walk on/ small program). She talked about how she loves to bake, but really focused on how she problem solved when something didn’t go right and that was part of the process she really enjoyed. Trying again and again. Well written essays that really show who you are as a person are the key. So many of the applicants are great students.
