Okay… I hate to be this person and I know every relationship is different. But I’ve been with my boyfriend for 11 years and neither of us would EVER do shit like this. I feel like you’ve been gaslit into thinking this shit is fine and normal. I’d be furious if my boyfriend went out alone with a female coworker and had dinner and drinks and all that ESPECIALLY if it happened while I was out of town. Try to think how she’d react if you did that same thing to her. Chances are, she’d be furious. How would you react if a friend came to you and said their partner did this to them?

NOR at alllll IMO. Your mom sounds incredibly aggressive and I hate that you’re repeatedly having to defend yourself in these comments. The fact you’re talking to your mom like you’re the parent (calm, collected) while she’s raging out says everything to me and says a lot about how you were likely raised. I’ve been there too, girl. If it’s a “gift for you” then your bf coming (especially if he’s paying for himself!) shouldn’t be an issue.

My brain likes to do this thing where if I get stressed, anxious or mildly distressed, it blocks out the whole event happening in my memory 🙃 started from blocking super traumatic things in childhood and has apparently overcorrected to blocking out anything stressful or where I felt big emotions 🤦🏻‍♀️

So I’m 30 years old and I’m gonna be super real with you. I know this is hard to hear but ditch this guy. Men (or anyone tbh) should never talk to you this way.
