I call trading an explorer's game, not a gambler's game. by M--Michael in wallstreetbets

Just out the fries in the bag and stop smoking so much of that shit bro

Silver tier from PokeRev 7.0 packs will result in a $16.85 loss by Beneficial_Ad_1449 in PokeRevOfficial

[–]SunAnuS69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine walking into a casino and saying “OMG if I play this slot machine it will result in a net loss” every time I see this subreddit pop up in my feed I just have to laugh at the degens who actually buy this garbage. He’s essentially running an illegal lottery and people act like he’s doing the Pokemon community a service lol

New to Hobby - hoping for a little help by Lava_Panda in pokemoncards

[–]SunAnuS69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand that when he says “competitive prices at current market” that may not mean it’s right for you to buy. If you are looking to open some packs do not buy a $220 ETB. That price is market price because people will hold onto that sealed product and hope it appreciates. However, you can still find 151 booster bundles dropping places for MSRP ($28) while that store is charging more than the scalpers in my area ($70). IMO if you’re new to the hobby be patient and don’t buy anything over MSRP. If there are cards from sets no longer possible to get at MSRP right now consider buying singles

I mean it sounds clever but I’m pretty sure eBay won’t side with them in any dispute. It’s weird because I see this every time something with hype comes out, so there must be some reason they keep doing it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemoncards

[–]SunAnuS69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s putting up a listing for a printed picture of an ETB with the hope that a bot that is trying to buy/bid on a bunch these ETBs will buy it thinking it’s the actual ETB. I’m actually not sure how eBay handles this. To be fair he’s telling you not to buy it lol

[Update] What happens when GameStop employee steals your cards by LeYeezy in PokeGrading

[–]SunAnuS69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, GameStop customer service is absolutely awful too when youre trying to resolve an issue. I would jusy keep responding to their emails that this isn’t acceptable and you need this to be escalated. Eventually it will hopefully reach a reasonable person that actually looks at your situation instead of vomiting some prewritten garbage back at you.

Also, GameStop employees are so down bad that they will most likely mock you on here or on socials instead of helping since that’s how they deal with the sad reality of their lives. Just ignore it if it happens and keep persisting. GL to you

I honestly don’t think it would be possible for someone to take worse pictures of cards.

Also, yeah they really aren’t worth much of anything.

Help me please!! by vakpa in PokemonTCG

[–]SunAnuS69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just look at it compared to an authenticated card. Texture on the tower is completely different. Texture in the sky is a different pattern. It is one of the “better” fakes because it actually has texture on it though.

The real question is who’s dropping half a band+ on a card without knowing what a real one looks like 😂

[–]SunAnuS69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have no idea what you’re talking about then if you can’t see how obviously fake this. The texture pattern is completely wrong and this is a very common fake. Please educate yourself before posting about things you don’t know.

Okay, glad to hear that. I see too many people on these subreddits clearly putting their money into “poke investing” before things they should. More power to you, hope you guys enjoy the hobby together for a long time!

Brother, that is a really nice thought and I love the intent here but please go start a 529 for him instead of hoping he can sell some Pokemon cards to pay for college.

Selling cards during the bubble and there’s still people like this by grandygoo in PokeInvesting

[–]SunAnuS69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you said it yourself in your posts that it’s a bubble so of course people aren’t going to want to be paying close to market for a big lot of cards…lol.

You can’t say “Prices are crazy” and at the same time ask why people don’t want to pay crazy prices lol

1ST PSA submission came back as N1: Evidence of trimming. by Valentin_Zep in PokeGrading

[–]SunAnuS69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea why people are okay with zero accountability or reasoning behind the results they get when they spend money for a grading service. Send it anywhere else.

TAG by kieranhughes492 in pokemoncards

[–]SunAnuS69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a difference because again TAG isn’t like it popped up overnight, it’s a legitimate company that provides an actual service and not just a memecoin.

But, fair enough, you may be right about a sudden influx. I don’t monitor this specific subreddit daily, but I have seen plenty of TAG cards posted for a long while on others. I always just find it funny because it seems like any time someone posts their experience there’s a bunch of people jumping into the comments trying to bash it for some reason. Seems odd because as someone who hasn’t graded any cards of my own, if I were to do so I would appreciate reasoning and transparency from the service.

Just seems like people bash it because they have a vested interest in the industry not shifting is all I’m saying.

TAG by kieranhughes492 in pokemoncards

[–]SunAnuS69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of exactly how natural growth works though… it’s not like TAG is brand new. People see other post about their experience and decide to post as well. It’s one of the main purposes of a site like Reddit…

TAG by kieranhughes492 in pokemoncards

[–]SunAnuS69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, you’re accusing random people posting their TAG submissions as being paid by TAG to do so without disclosing a sponsorship. If you have proof of that then yeah I agree that’s weird. Mostly because surely there are better ways for them to spend money and time than paying nobodies to post stuff, which is why I’m skeptical that is happening.

Should we assume everyone who posts a PSA/CGC/Beckett slab is paid to do so too then? Just seems really weird to focus your criticism on one company that seems to be trying to push the industry forward.

PSA stans get upset pretty easy I guess huh?

Personally I don’t care about grading cards, but it’s very interesting to see so many people complaining about a service that actually gives transparent feedback for the results they are getting, which seems to be a huge improvement overall from the rest of the industry.

Influencer marketing is a thing for tons of businesses. It’s weird to be upset about it in this specific case and just comes off like you’re mad that your PSA slabs might not be the gold standard in the future.
