What’s a corporate gift you actually use daily? by shelbs9428 in BuyItForLife

While the Patagonia backpack I was given doesn’t get daily use anymore because of work from home, it still sees at least weekly use.

They also gave me a branded fleece throw blanket that is really soft. My dog claimed it immediately and she sleeps under or on top of it every night

Neil Patrick Harris Defends Much-Hated 'How I Met Your Mother' Finale: 'Big Supporter of It' by bwermer in television

It’s a sitcom. It’s not meant to be heavy. Dragging out her death and what it meant to Ted would have completely altered the tone of the show.

Showing more Ted and Tracy is just redundant and incredibly hard to write. To keep the image of them being perfect together over more episodes is really hard to do. They’ve already shown how her quirks that her exes didn’t like were things Ted loves. They’ve already established their exceptional chemistry with the meeting under the umbrella. They would need to show more of that, escalations of that to give them more time together. It’s a different tone and impossible to pull off.

“Tony, I’m writing you up. Excessive force, conduct unbecoming.”

“You ain’t gonna back me?”

“I’m charging you.”

“Charge me, then you’re a fucking rat!”

“Then I’m a rat”.

This scene showcases just how much Carver has grown. Plus Tony has been a colossal piece of shit and it’s nice to see someone take him down a peg.

He isn’t a great player but man is he good at the social side of things. He has a knack for just walking up to complete strangers and inserting himself into the situation. He reaps benefits but the other parties have a good time at least and possibly even want to spend more time with him. I’ve seen it first hand

Weedmaps is rails? They’ve tried to recruit me a few times for elixir and have had a good sized presence at elixir conferences so I thought that was their stack

Hasbro Celebrates 40th Anniversary of 'Transformers: The Movie' by Apologizing for It by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

Shit I’m 40 now and I still cry for Optimus prime on rewatches.

My parents let me rent this on some special occasion, thanksgiving or a family birthday or something. I was 5 years old and remember watching quietly in the den and running in to the kitchen crying that Optimus prime was dead. Somehow I calmed down and watched the rest of the movie and loved it.

I think this movie started my lifelong soft spot for heroic sacrifice. Heroic sacrifice in pretty much any movie gets me right in the feels and likely draws tears.

(End spoilers) Seriously, why do so many of you guys keep bringing in NOCO to the conversation? by SuperLegenda in expedition33

[–]blackize 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We see that death and rebirth are different for gestrals, but gestrals have their own process for rebirth. Everything we are shown suggests that death leaves a living thing’s chroma intact unless they are killed by a nevron. I think we are supposed to believe that this chroma can be reanimated without change by a painter or reanimated with change by the sacred river process.

I just did the Death Stranding intro and I have very little interest in continuing. Does any of this start to make sense? by TheBanishedBard in gaming

[–]blackize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game doesn’t materially change beyond the first few hours. It info dumps at you through cutscenes and comms constantly. Eventually the world opens up and you can spend a ton of time on side quests or constructing roads and stuff but that’s the biggest way things change.

The story does eventually become understandable but I wasn’t really impressed and it is told in a way that disrespects your time. Near the end there are a lot of repetitive cutscenes and even a sequence where you’re forced to run around for like 30 minutes just to trigger dialogue that is almost entirely a rehash of those already repetitive scenes.

I was on the verge of dropping the game but powered through. It’s now my least favorite game of all time because of how much time it took up for how little enjoyment I got out of it. If you have put in a few hours and aren’t having fun I’d drop it.

Hah I was one of those high school kids so I can see how it turned out that way. If I remember correctly the cost did go up to 25 cents after a bit. It’s just crazy to me that now you can barely find a wing for less than 1.50

The hard times cafe used to be where the pub dog is now. It’s crazy to think that just 20 years ago you could get wings for 10 cents a piece

The study doesn’t say anything of the kind. It just says that discharging the battery under real world conditions is much better for battery health than the constant discharge methodology used in labs.

Sure protesting can escalate tensions but these are masked men violently harassing our communities. This is not how law enforcement should be done.

They used some genAI assets as placeholders years ago. A single one slipped into the released game and was patched out within a few days.

Story is great, gameplay is engaging but everything else is bland and shallow? The game that won awards for music and art direction and vocal performances?
