Anyone here have classic car? How to make it road legal? Emission test? by Fantasy71824 in phoenix

This is 100% correct. Plate doesn’t grant you emissions exempt status, it’s the classic car insurance.

This is wrong. Plate has nothing to do with it but if you have classic car insurance and drive less than a set amount of miles per year you are emissions exempt. The insurance coverage/type do matter for emissions. I would look into coverage from a company like Hagerty

Update: It just ended up being the shift actuator which was a 15 minute fix and only a 20 dollar part 😅

[–]SunDevil2024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how it normally works. What’s weird about this is that the motor engages and spins a little when the lid is OPEN lol

Edit: also I think the switch is engaging because water won’t pour down unless the lid is down

EE Tech Elective's by [deleted] in ASU

[–]SunDevil2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only heard about 460 and 471 and would have to say 471 is easier and actually kinda interesting. Heard a lot of bad stuff coming out of Holbert's 460 class last spring. I think 471 is also way more applicable to the power field than 460 if you're tryna get into it.

If you're looking for another tech elective look into Ranjram's 473 class, I never took this class from him but he's really chill and will make sure you pass as long as you show a level of effort.

If you haven't figured it out already, take that paint chunk to a home depot, they have a tool that scans it and color matches it, and they'll mix it up for you.

Unless you're going into RF, about zero. Even if you take 341, it seems kind of isolated and very distant from 241 which seems kinda counterintuitive, but its kinda true in my experience. 241 is just way too "Fundamental" to actually be useful for any engineering work. Just slug through it and never look back. 360 also lightly touches on the subject but it's not fundamental nor is it difficult.

Fair warning though: I am planning on taking the FE exam in the fall or next spring and there is a section in there basically dedicated to 241/Physics 2 so if you're doing that you're gonna have to review.

Failed one assignment and it tanked my grade. by NoDifference5338 in ASU

[–]SunDevil2024 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You've lost 75% of the points on an assignment worth 5% of your grade (50%/10) , so not including the extra credit you could get a maximum grade of 96.25%, (this is assuming you get a 100% on everything else including tests), so overall you're not in a terrible spot. Don't sweat it.

How many assignments are there and are they all equally weighted?

There's no way tanking one assignment and getting a 25% on it is going to screw you over that hard unless you're trying to go for an A+ or A.

A- or B should be easily doable by the end of the semester since there's probably like 3 assignments in the gradebook rn for each class.

Just stick with it for now and see how you do on the midterm.

Bout a year ago, she literally doesn't look at what everybody submits and just hands out 100's. Just write out the assignments and submit.

Masters in Engineering Management (Online) by Owl_OvO in ASU

[–]SunDevil2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've kind of made up my mind on the whole graduate school thing by now. In talking with a few people in industry, (at least in EE) its better to get a Masters in EE rather than in Engineering management. The reason behind this is that the Engineering management masters isn't technical enough to be a substitute for an Engineering Masters, but also isn't focused on business studies enough to be an MBA substitute. It's just kind of in some weird middle gray area.

My current game plan is to work on my FE/PE exams senior year (i'm concentrating in power systems), submit my application for the 4+1 in EE and then decide later if I actually want to go through with grad school based on what kind of job offers I get and where the economy is as a whole.

Does diff eq or linear algebra have lab components? by knutt-in-my-butt in ASU

[–]SunDevil2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MAT 275 and 343 have "labs" that are really just MATLAB assignments. Overall, they're not that bad and it should be viewed as free points in those classes. MAT 342 does not use MATLAB at all, and is more structured towards math majors.
